The draft process would have to work more like a free agency period IMO. Teams would approach the player pool in order of merit, and sumit offers for players, but the players have the right to choose whether they accept the contract. This leaves some control in the players' hands, as there is in real life.vic_orthdox said:A Contract System
Just a radical idea, to sort of quell the "factions" that are supposedly being created in the Dev League. While it erodes loyalty, it could help to make it more of a single community working towards a goal of making the CW outfit more successful.
- Every player in the Dev League is offered a contract, the length of which is determined by the heirachy of each side.
- Contracts may not be longer than two seasons, EXCEPT for two players who can be offered four year contracts, effectively making them "franchise players".
- At the end of each season, you may re-sign an arbitary number of players (for arguments sake, four).
- The remaining players who are unsigned at the end of the year are then entered into a draft along with the new sign-ups, and selections made.
- When drafted, each player is offered another contract.
Ja. I tested it with a few Twenty20 clashes and it seemed to produce pretty realistic results.Neil Pickup said:Work, work, work...
My sim's much more capable at handling Twenty20 games, I have to say. Teams get out.
What factions are there then?age_master said:but if factions withing the Dev league are developing i think that that might be a good way to address it.

The Pro-Everything Liam does faction (AKA the Anti-Anti-Rookie faction)
The Anti-working class faction (AKA Tarick Weber)

The CW Reds
The Anti-CW Red faction (AKA Everyone apart from The Anti-Rookie Faction, The Anti-Everything Liam does faction and The overreacting, easily offended faction)
More fun that way. Keeps it alive in some way also.Blaze said:I don't see why people don't retire due to old age in this game.
