Debut Chronology Draft - Tests

JOJOXI

International Vice-Captain
Shane Bond (22 November 2001) will do a full write up later

1. Bill Ponsford
2. Conrad Hunte
3. Charles Macartney (5)
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Clyde Walcott
6. Clive Lloyd (c)
7. Les Ames (wk)
8. Andy Roberts (2)
9. Shane Bond (3)
10. Stuart MacGill (4)
11. Sydney Barnes (1)

Content with my side but think I'd have played things a bit different in hindsight especially perhaps eyeing up a bowling allrounder earlier. Andy Roberts averages 29.37 in his 11 innings from number 8 but certainly lack a bowling allrounder perhaps who could stiffen up the lower order batting a tad but that is made up for by a middle order I'm very happy with - ATGs in Tendulkar, Walcott and Lloyd and then Les Ames averaging over 40 in the 1930s is a hugely impressive feat too. Macartney averages 59 in 28 innings (just over half of his Test innings) at number 3 too so very happy with the solidity of the batting. Ponsford and Hunte make a very solid opening pair too. Think the bowling is probably the weaker front but still have a legspinner I rate very highly in MacGill and another spin option in Macartney if needed. Barnes one of the very best with the ball and then Roberts and Bond provide us with genuine pace

Haha. I was going to pick him anyway. Did not anticipate Fuller Pilch taking another spinner.
As I had Hammond and Grace to bowl seam I decided to pick two spinners.

Earlier I hadn't thought of that, but my plan changed dramatically when I missed out on most of the gun bowlers (except Garner) so decided to go for Flower as keeper and pick an extra bowler.
