What the crud?

Why was I opening the bowling? I'm a bloody Off-spinner!!!!!
It's a fun charity game.

Since you'd often remarked about not bowling then bowling then batting up the order etc., I thought - let good old Paid open - it's all good harmless fun.

Oh, yeah, if anyone can let me know if Peter will be around anytime soon for captaincy reasons, that'd be great - if he isn't, I don't know the rest of the (starting) team well enough to know who should be captain.
Cheers for thinking of me in my times of increasing absence but Sam has probably got it right with me not having regular internet access anymore.

Good game guys, the best thing about it was the jovial atmosphere.

The stands were packed with Black, Blue, Green and Red supporters at Sydney and they weren't disappointed with the show, as nine sixes were hit by nine players in a complete change from the first OD, including one near the end of the 44th over by the Duck Master himself, Neil Pickup, who finished up not out with 12 runs to his name, quite possibly a higher score than he's made during his entire OD season! Squad B worked well as a team, and while only Steds (40 off 40) and Loony BoB (51 off 44) made it past 30 runs with their aggressive batting, they also only had two players unable to reach double figures as Sudeep struck four times for Squad A, including the two key wickets of Steds and Broncoman in consecutive balls. Nath Patrick also chimed in with three wickets to his name, and Age Master, centurion from the last match, played the bowler's part for this match with his full ten overs going at a respectable 3.4 an over. When the last wicket fell in the 45th over, their score was set at a competitive 243.

Partnerships continued to fall apart before they were built when the second innings began, Squad A six wickets down for only 84 runs when Sudeep joined Superkingdave in the middle. Sudeep then supported Superkingdave in a 66 run partnership, the only time the team showed any sign of taking the match. It was Steds who took the ball and made it count, though, as he took two wickets in his first over - those of Sudeep (26) and Biased Indian (0), leaving the score at 150/8 and Squad B went in for the kill, AdamC taking his third wicket before Superkingdave was finally caught out by Marc from the effective and economical bowling of Mr. Wright - but not before he reached his well deserved 50.

Steds' performances with both bat and ball earned him man of the match, while for the second time the team batting first took the glory, levelling the CW Dev League Showcase Showcasing Tournament's charity OD series.

Meanwhile, the drinking competitions from the first match has inspired more charity games to go ahead, with a pie-eating competition on the cards for the next OD. This game wasn't without it's own, er, impromptue charity events, though, as an unnamed man ran stark naked towards the pitch, apparently part of a dare from his friend. The man happily handed a wad of money to the umpire, asking him to pass it on to the CW Bar. Unconfirmed reports say he has now made additional £1000 which will also go to charity, although for a different reason - to "never, ever do that again."

Excellent to see the games being well supported. :)

Now let's get down to the real reason why we're here and pump that charity box full of dosh.

Played everyone. :cool2:

Even funnier then Age Masters 10 overs - Samuel Vimes 5-1-31-0

Vimesy will be gunning for a opening bowler position for next year if he keeps that up!

Haha, good to see i played as a specialist batter, coming in at 5 and bowling 2 balls :) Top notch effort, I must say :p

Good games guys, fun as ever, and again i congratulate the organisers.

The perfect match. For charity, and all :)
Man of the Match: Steds
Thankyou, autographs later :p

Sounds good...as long as no Wiganers enter. Nobody can beat a Wiganer at eating pies. It'd take all the competition away, thus dampening the atmosphere ;)
