Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

If the various ideas and decisions about the international game that Cricket Australia has supported weren't arse enough, you can expect them to be even more so going forward:

The same CEO want the 'bad light' rule removed. Play in semi dark or with a red ball under lights?

It would be naive to think Australia would ever face consequences for not playing home tests against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Ireland, but they really should.

Modern Bangladesh is particularly weird because there’s a huge diaspora here who would turn out to watch them.

Say what you like about the ECB - goodness knows I do - but at least England host these smaller nations.

It actually contributes to the advantage Australia get from playing less tests, they ought to be on a treadmill like England and India are.

Don’t mind a refusal to play against Afghanistan under the Taliban TBF.

Agree with the rest but this. Playing a few extra Tests a year would probably help them develop depth if anything. If Bangladesh toured for a couple tests the bowlers would all rest like they did for the champions trophy, pretending to be "sore" or something. Would also make reaching the WTC final easier. Definitely wouldn't be any kind of disadvantage.

Slater sentenced today for DV offences. Got 4 years, he's been in gaol for over a year now, so with that and part of the sentence being suspended, he's now out.

Heard they were going to let him out after 3 months but he said he "give me a few more days at least, I don't want to be out in the 90s again"

How does that work? He was sentenced to 4 years in prison but was set free because he'd already served 375 days in custody, so only needed to serve 1 year of a 4 year sentence?

So weird that by pleading guilty he basically got himself released from prison
