Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

Speed guns are all over the place. Wade was just clocked at 132 k but looked about 115. One of Cummins deliveries was 138. They should just get rid of them as they are obviously not correct.

Wade is always low 130s tbf.

Speed guns are accurate. Whether they are a perfect representation of what batsmen interpret as speed is another thing altogether.

I feel like DRS should be operated more by the umpiring team the way football refs have control over VAR.

How amazing did that ground look today, full house, beautiful sun, flags of both teams flying everywhere, what a sight. The other test nations must love England fans touring, over half the ground there today were english. If only we could consistently put out a team that matched how great our fans always are

the cruel thing is how many photos there are of callum ferguson in test kits, think there were shots from 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2016

I remember a particularly unflattering one of Zampa appearing before the World Cup when it was used on cricinfo:

In fact, see them all and marvel. And I think one reason Maxwell didn't do so well is because he'd taken bites out of his bats.

Incidentally, this makes me think that now, we can hopefully sit back and say, 'I remember when Shaun Marsh played Test Cricket,' rather than it being something happening right now.

How good is no international cricket in Australia in January while the team heads to India to play a meaningless series in empty stadia?

So the "Teams since 1877" thread revival reminded me of that thing people tried to do around here a few years back where you had to use overlapping players to trace from your country's most recent test back to their first, in as few steps as possible.

I can't remember if it was a thread of its own or not, but anyway, had a bit of time this arvo and came up with this list for Australia. Not sure if it's possible to get any less players than 12 between the third test vs NZ just gone and the first test vs England in 1877.

Smith
Ponting
S Waugh
Hookes
Walters
Burge
K Miller
B Brown
Oldfield
Armstrong
Trumble
Blackham

I'd offer to do Afghanistan and Ireland, but htey're all a bit too hard

Anyway, reprising it as I'm bored. Fire away if there's any shorter list.
