Cricket, a whole new ball game?

Pink balls for one day cricket?

The colour of balls used in the English one-day game could change from white to pink if trials by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), guardians of the laws of cricket, prove successful.

But seriously what other colour would you use? Not a huge fan of the pink idea but its at least worth a trial.

Orange ones have been used, TV companies don't like them because they don't show-up well on the black-and-white monitors they use. Of course, using colour monitors in the production studio is so difficult isn't it? 8-)

Really, what does it matter what colour the ball is though TBH? You can play with rainbow balls for all I care, long as the cricket's good.

Eh, its just limited overs cricket, so it doesn't matter. I for one advocate making the ball the same color as the pitch. That way we can bring the bowlers back into the game. Plus we'd see more ball hitting the players, which is always a plus.
