Cricketer Of The Year
Ok i have had a few people coming to me and asking why are the averages being capped at the end of the season...

I have no idea where these rumours have come from and can say honestly that there is no substance to them whatsoever...

The average update will work as it did last season by going on the statistics in the players VC4 line...

If your player has played a heap of matches and has a good or bad season it will lessen the effect on his average when it is updated...

However on the other hand players with less experience who have a good or bad season will be effected more... Now in saying this, it does not mean that the players average will drop by 15 or 20 it may increase by 5 or 10 depending on his season...

2 examples to look at...

John Smith has played 200 career games before this season and has an average of 50..
During the season he hits 952 runs from 10 innings @ 95.2...
His average would go up to approximatley 51-52...

John Smith Jr however has played only 23 games before this season with an average of 52..
During the season he hits 862 runs from 9 Innings @ 95.77..
His average would go up to approximatley 58-59...

These are examples of how the system works, and to re-clarify there is NO CAP ON AVERAGES!!!!

After we talked on msn GB I saw the format the sim is using. It does not have a coloumn for not outs etc.So to do the real life system in the new sim would definitely be impossible.I mean even if we did it manually this year then it wud not be stored 4 next year because of the absence of the notouts/inns coloumn in the player stats line in the sim.

Also if the real life updating is introduced then it wil affect the youth severely.I mean they arent gonna play to their best because they dont have the matches to their name and since the number of matches are less some amount of underperforming would lessen their stats severely.

I suggest the player avg be now called player skill and we can update them as u did it in season 1.If a player plays well his skill goes up by some points if he does bad it goes down by some points.Lets have say +7 / -5 maximum range (thts wht it was 4 season 1 I think). In this case youth and oldies would be affected the same way and youth would not suffer too much and stats would not increase too much either with a superb performance.

Sriram, I feel we ought to have the same + and - capping if we do it that way, or players will always be getting better, which I don't feel is right.

I just mentioned it as I remembered from season1. It will all be as blewy and the board decide.

Sorry I have been a very, very busy man working 13 hour days and the like, so what does this mean to me?

Greetings from Kaikoura.

I thought I might add my 2c worth. When updating last seasons averages I didn't cap. Why cap. If your player has had a great season his average should go up accordingly. Something to think about. I will catch up with everything in 2 weeks time.
