Channel Ten buys IPL rights - every match to be shown live in Australia on FTA

On and have Robert Walls do some special comments.

How good would it be if he just randomly started bagging Essendon in the middle of a cricket match.

Would be ****in gold.

Haha we can watch live overseas domestic cricket on FTA, but not home domestic matches. With quite a few Sri Lankans playing this should be awsome.

That is awesome news! As an Indian fan I can watch Indian Domestic Twenty20 on an Australian Channel for free! Even if it was on Fox Sports it would've been awesome, but how surprising is Channel 10 for cricket!

Serves Channel 9 right, there coverage of the cricket with mugs like Ian Healy spouting crap and cutting off the coverage in eastern states for News and A Current Affair is appalling.

I don't think the BCCI deliberately didn't give it to Channel 9 though, just that 10 were the highest bidders. The BCCI and CA both know what happens when you don't give the rights to the highest bidder ;)

We're not even going to get the Australian overseas games on FTA I don't think, means I'm going to have to get Fox Sports back :@

I'm not sure there even was any bidding tbh, this might have taken 9 completely by surprise. I think it took everyone by surprise that an Australian TV network was interested in this.
