Cricket is full of bests, biggests, mosts, and most economicals, but the last untapped frontier of opinions in cricketing terms is the Test series.

Share your favourites here.

To start things:

1960/61 Australia vs West Indies

2000/01 India vs Australia

1932/33 Australia vs England

2000 England vs West Indies

1994/95 West Indies vs Australia

Well excuuuuuse me!

Have you noticed that in two of my five nominees Australia lose?

I think you need glasses. Certainly not rose coloured ones.

In retrospect, it was a scintillating series. It would certainly be No. 6 in my top ten.

Sorry about my reply. It's a known fact that loathing of Ian Botham is burnt into the heart of every cricket-loving Australian.

If you lived here you'd understand. :D

I disagree - all those series were won by decisive margins (especially AUS vs SA) and had an anticlimax.

Australia in West Indies 97/98 is the one I have enjoyed the most particularly because of Lara's batting and the bowling attack of both teams being of very good quality. Australians had all the batters as usual and it was one man Lara vs them literally. Wonderful.

West indies tour of australia in 92/93!

The emergence of lara and warne and the classic adelaide test match that west indies won by 1 run!

Windies tour of Australia in 92/93.

first test: the leas memorable of the lot, but did see the Windies lower order battle it out to see out the 60-odd overs to get a draw from that game.

second test: Warne arrives. 7-for and dominates the match.

third test: Steve Waugh's first test century for 3 years (i think), then overshadowed by Brian Lara's first double century in a 300++ run stand with Richie Richardson.

fourth test: the 1-run thriller in which McDermott and Tim May put on 40-odd runs for the last wicket to close in on the target. McDermott given out caught behind when no where near the ball.

fifth test: Ambrose completely runs through the Australian team. Windies win series 2-1 in a great comeback.

what a series!
