We were beating Pakistan for fun during 96 - 98 period.

South Africa did not play a single match in SL between 96 - 99.
SL played most of their matches with Aus in Aus.

96 - 99 we basically destroyed everyone at home albeit playing very little here. Actually India played best against us at home.

Coincidentally I checked SA v SL head to head between 96 and 99. On that basis I'm giving it to SA. Those two teams were in some exceptional form in that period.

You weren't. In fact Pakistan beat SL in the Singer Cup immediately after the 96 WC.

Was at least partly a fluke win. Jayasuriya destroyed Pakistan bowlers with fastest ever 50 and then an inexplicable collapse. In the game prior to that he had hit fastest ever hundred and SL won.
