I see you had a big win yesterday kurt! Nicely done, 2nd in Div 1. You are getting some incredible ratings too, do you GFI every game?
Rob, yeah. GFIing is more or less mandatory in Div 1, hence the ratings. I'm having to manage PFL very carefully, which has meant throwing my FC matches. My emphasis is on the OD and the cup this season.

Playing the tactical game this season. My team is a good 70-80 batstats points behind the rest of my Div IV OD league. Playing a 2nd XI every game now, no point wasting PFL on games I stand no chance of winning.

Achieving good results in the other formats, which I need otherwise membership numbers may deteriorate. A 3rd place finish in the First Class competition will be a good result, and I am aiming to win T20.

Lost by about 15 runs yesterday. Made an ultimately very poor decision to send in one of my average players as opener to see if he could make a few runs, see off the opening bowlers, and then get out. Only problem was he never got out and ended up scoring 83* off 150-odd balls. Cost us the game while two better players never got a hit.

Won't do that again!

There's a bustle in the front rows, but don't be alarmed now. They're just trying to seat a drag queen. There were two ways she could have gone, but she's chosen the long run. Settling down now, and Hera watches that ball go wide of off stump.

According to the reporter's summary, I was better than my opponent in all areas bar 1. Lost by 17 runs, but it was at his home ground.

So far this season I've lost all my OD games:

Game 1: By 22 runs
Game 2: By 26 runs
Game 3: By 8 wickets
Game 4: By 18 runs (very average opener scored 83 off 158)
Game 5: By 13 runs

Haven't lost by much in all bar 1 game, ironically that was to the team that was on the bottom until we played. Have to decide whether to keep having a crack and hope to get a few wins to stay up at the end of the season, or to give up. There's no real point going up in FC though as it makes it too hard.

Am probably 1 good bowler from being reasonable in this division. I think we've only been bowled out once, haven't bowled many teams out though...if any. 2 good bowlers and a bat from challenging.

2 bat 1 field the obvious choice...but from where do I get the 3 nets? I was thinking of stopping Stiemmie and taking away one of Henshaw's...opinions would be welcome.

Not worth thinking about giving Henshaw a fielding with the new ME? Could take Lumsdon's fielding net? Will catch up ad he ages anyway.

this morning for around 3m. Don't particularly care about the price, personally. Wanted a second all-rounder. Hopefully by the time he's good my older guys will still have a few seasons left in them for a tilt at maybe making Div.1 again. If not, oh well.

No pops other than experience today.

Lumsdon - leave on current nets for the end of this season imo,
Edwad Gunaratne - change to 1 bowl 1 stam
Darren Henshaw - changes to 1 bat. his keeping his high enough as it is. and you don't really want that conc getting out of control
Greg Stiemmie - change to 1 bat. doesn't need 2 nets at 22.

keep that stamina net rotating about imo.

Am putting in an Australia-like performance trying to bowl out my opposition in the FC match. Gave myself all day to get them out today, was 287 ahead. They've just drawn even with 3 wickets in hand and 12 overs left today. Will need a couple of quick wickets and some quick runs to win.

Am playing no 1st team bowlers and only 3 bats though, so a draw is ok. Would be nice to get up from here.

Notched up my first win in OD cricket this season. Knocked over the team coming 2nd last by 9 wickets after bowling them out for 102. One of my young players scored his 1st 50 opening the batting in the process.

Need a couple of more wins at least to avoid relegation though. Am hoping to knock over a couple of the teams I lost by 20 runs or less to in the second half of the season (there are 4).

It is interesting to note that halfway through the season only 7 bowlers in total have actually qualified for the stats section with 10+ wickets. None of them are mine

Just had a look at the transfer market too, some ridiculously over-priced players there...

Scored 239/3 on a green deck at home against a team I lost to by 22 runs last time. Funnily enough, I scored 238/10 that time. Hopefully I can either get them out or hold them to 22 runs less than that this time.
