Playing the top team in OD today.....bowled them out for under 150 on a flat track, so hoping for a win when I get a chance to check it again later on.

The new ME changes take effect for friendlies this weekend, so looking forward to see how my Wristy does and my trainee wicky.

Prateek Sethuraman - 17 yo, BT Rating=6,320, Wage=£487
A defensive LH batsman and a defensive LFM bowler. He has mediocre leadership skills and worthless experience. He has no preference and no trait.
He currently has worthless batting form, proficient bowling form and energetic fitness.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: competent Concentration: proficient
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: woeful
Fielding: worthless

He's coming along brilliantly, getting pops most weeks. He won't be able to keep it up for long, but now he's a respectable trainee prospect.

Marc Baholo - 20 yo, BT Rating=49,148, Wage=£6,340
A destructive LH batsman and a destructive LM bowler. He has worthless leadership skills and feeble experience. He has no preference and no trait.
He currently has superb batting form, superb bowling form and energetic fitness.

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: abysmal Concentration: strong
Bowling: quality Consistency: quality
Fielding: strong

Quite an average trainee considering he is 20 and only just hitting quality bowling. No reason to give up on him though, he can still be taken to a really good level. My little training plan has him in training for another three seasons, four if need be.

Owen Verma - 17 yo, BT Rating=6,596, Wage=£720
A cautious RH batsman and a steady RFM bowler. He has competent leadership skills and worthless experience. He has no preference and no trait.
He currently has strong batting form, feeble bowling form and invigorated fitness.

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: proficient Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: worthless

Meh. I expect stamina to pop next week. Hardly gets any gametime due to PFL, already the 3rd strongest bat in my side so I hope to ease him in later in the season.

How many nets is he on?

Would you mind copying and pasting your whole squad so I could have a look?

One bowling net.

First team squad looks like this:

1. Donald - Res/Comp
2. Carey - Strong/Prof
3. Naseem - Res/Fee
4. Caulfield - Qual/Sup
5. Verma - Prof/Med (Comp WK)
6. Fuller - Res/Woe
7. Khulekani - Med/Med - Str/Med
8. Salmon - Wor/Wor - Comp/Comp
9. Zibi - Wor/Aby - Res/Comp
10. Gerber - Wor/Res - Qua/Sup
11. Baholo - Aby/Str - Qua/Qua

The rest are simply Med/Med 1K buys from first season used as squad fillers. I find no need to purchase anymore players, I compete well enough in my leagues. I don't see the point in spending funds on say Strong primary players who will be redundant in 1/2 seasons time. Bank balance is very healthy for when I am ready to make changes, a good position to be in considering only my 4th season.

Carey, Caulfield, Verma, Gerber and Baholo the trainees.

Yeah fair enough, I see your point.

Might as well my put first XI up, a fair few others have done it.

1. Comp/resp
2. Resp/resp/resp
3. Med/resp/resp (Med WK)
4. Comp/qual/prof (trainee)
5. Med/prof/resp
6. Med/prof/comp
7. Comp/resp/med - prof/comp
8. Strong/worth/prof - qual/superb (trainee)
9. Strong/worth/worth - superb/strong (trainee)
10. Med/aby/feeb - prof/resp
11. Resp/worth/worth - prof/comp

Never worry about my batting order from 8 down, it always varies from game to game.

Anyway, after forking out 270 odd k on my no 11 and some ground updates, I'm back down to nothing. I'd like to say I'm going to save, but there's not much point as I'll find a reason to spend the money as soon as I save up some more.

Facing the prospect of winning my Div 5 OD league. Not exactly the result I am after as my team would struggle in 95% of the other Div 5 leagues.
Your team is a bit better than mine but not by much, and I'm struggling to stay alive in my Div 5 OD league. You should throw a couple of matches and finish high-mid table.

Easy league. A couple of teams went BOT at the start of the season.

Actually our teams will make good comparisons over the seasons. You have a join date in Battrick 7 days before my own.

Yeah we will. Hooper can be our other comparison team, he says he signed up at around the same time as me.

Not trying to make any excuses for you being better, but have you had any lengthy absences from playing?

Also, I'll hit you up for a friendly this weekend if you like. I'm interested to see how my resp keeper does and my wristy in the new match engine.

I already have a friendly organised for Sunday. Challenge me the following weekend.

I imagine we have better teams than our first friendly - Battrick - Canterbury Chargers v Killers CC

Brings back memories. Fillery in his early days.

Wish I never sold Nissanka, did it when I was a n00b and stupid, he could be an awesome keeper by now if I didn't think selling him was the best way to get out of debt.

Rocastle was also a good young prospect back in the day.

Lost my OD game yesterday but I really should of won it. Flat pitch and my opposition got 320 odd and I finished up on 3/310ish. My two best batsmen didn't get to face enough balls because my bloody average Number 3 ended up getting 90 somehow, I wasn't even expecting him to get past 20. The problem was he wasted too many balls for that 90. Stupid.

I really need to by another good bowler soon. My team really needs another good bowler and a spinner would be great if possible. I was thinking maybe I could buy a 19/20yo quality/remarkable spinner and train them up. But it seems they are hard to come by on the transfer market. So I'm thinking of buying this guy:

4. Gordon Binns, Age: 26 years old, £2,080,800 (The_Real_HBK!)
Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: competent
Bowling: wonderful Consistency: proficient
Fielding: proficient

Deadline: 28/06/2010 04:27

I know he is 26 but I am desperate for a good spin bowler, if I end up getting him I can change him to a wrist spinner aswell. I've get the nets to train him up a bit more to.

I've got about 3.8 mil, would that be enough to get him?

Jakester1288

Possibly, I don't know much about TM values TBH.

I must say, you'd be wasting your time on training him from this point. Just put more nets and stam/fielding on other players till you can buy/pull a spinner next season and train him up while this guy/other current spinner is doing the job.

I really need to start getting cons into him. Too much of a liability with it only being superb. I'm finding you basically need cons > bowling to actually be worth having :-O I have a sens/exc who just isn't effective at all... he is actually performing horribly. I'm really gearing my team towards having secondaries at least equivalent to primaries. Just can't survive any other way. This guy's going to be listed too, has performed poorly all season and should fetch a bit on the market. I also want to free up some training room to round out the wonderful bat/masterful bowl allrounder's secondaries:

Eugene Peel - 21 yo, BT Rating=42,478, Wage=£16,840
