I mean it must have been a great gladatorial spectacle but it's easy for us to judge on the sidelines if we aren't facing that bowling. But 'kill kill' sorry crosses a line for me.
It's just a chant, it's not going to hurt anyone, I doubt a stadium full of people actually want to see death, they're just saying what they think is cool even if politically incorrect in 2025, using that as an excuse to justify racism is ignorant.

If I call those Australian crowds as savage barbarians who descended from monkeys, is it racist? Or is it only for the WestIndies crowds?
a sports chant doesn't define a stadium full of people so I'd say you're wrong anyway, not sure if racist as I monkeys or living in trees are not actually likened to the white Australian population.

Could argue the same for Sunny's comments then. The Crowd was Bad, but the comment was uncalled for. I think upto "mob" was fine, the jungle part is racist.

The crowd is egging on 90MPH bowlers to do bodily harm.

Sunny's comment was wrong but his anger was justified.

A 5 foot 4 inch batsman was playing against 6 foot pacers bowling 90mph beamers and crowd was chanting “Kill Kill” and you want him to react in a politically correct way?

The Jungle part is racist from the standard of 1930s let alone 1980s.
Hmmm..... There were players who outright refused to shake hands with Headley and Constantine for their colours in the 1930s, and literal apartheid government was in SA during the incident. I still think it was racist for that time and worse than the crowd behaviour, because well, it was a crowd behaviour. But I am not sure the crowd behaviour was that common back then as well.

No, I don't want him to whine too much and carry himself somewhat similar to Sachin or Dravid. I know he isn't like them, but he has too big a mouth, and too many **** things comes out of it.
