Quite a few of Australia u19s are contracted or on rookies. The one's that aren't are mainly because NSW can't contract them all and some still young. Seems like next years U19CWC could be a good one.

From Jason Sangha's wiki article. The last of it's 4 sentences reads: "He began attending Waverley College in late 2016 and became fast friends with Daniel Priestley and Tyler von der Heyden who he describes as "real top notch blokes".

The WA mob would be baying for some of the action. CA wouldn't want it to happen because of the eastern seaboard timing; the chance would be a test vs India as it would make the timezone better for those in the subcontinent. If that pushed up the amount that CA could get for the Indian series, they might consider it.

I thought it was just to create some competition between Adl, Bris and Perth. I reckon CA see some government/tourist money

"We've got a CA XI that plays in the tournament that allows players who haven't been selected in their state teams at the start of the year - but who are still going to have an important role to play in future Australian teams or their state squads over the course of the summer - to get some cricket in at the start of the year.
i think if this was true, we'd be more ok with it. But the bulk of the side is focused on only the future australian teams and there's barely a relationship with the bolded; it's not the players that have just missed selection in the squad going into the CA XI

Yeah if they just thought there was enough talent fill seven teams, they'd just add a proper seventh team to fix that. It exists only because Greg Chappell doesn't like what happens if the state selectors pick on something vaguely resembling merit.

Sutherland rules out PNG,guess he will stick with his project.
Faulkner done nothing over the off season, willl do nothing in India.
If George Bailey canned so should Faulkner be canned.
Time to look to the future.
