Also, never realised how gun of a fielder green is, knew he could bat and bowl but don't remember him ever showing many signs as a fielder at grade level. Absolutely incredible athlete.
Calling heavy BS on you ever seeing Green play as he was coming up through grade cricket.

If you had seen him back in WA you would at at least know it is that state that are traditionally known as the "sand groppers"

I am extremely affronted to be attacked in such a way by a fellow Tim oakley fan, you will hear from my lawyers.

Watched green mostly in the few u19 games he got for Aus vs Pak and the later part of the state based u19 ODI tournament, but he never looked a particularly good fielder, and the people who I spoke to who had watched him more at grade level never made much more about his ability in the field, always heard a ton about his bowling and how technically correct his batting was and that he churned out a good chunk of runs at grade level.

Ahh OK, that is more of him you have seen than I initially thought.

That Pakistan U19 series was strange, pretty much the entire team for the then upcoming U19WC was rested. Green was playing as a bat only due to back issues at that point, wasn't a million miles off making the squad as a specialist bat though.

You seen the 9for Oakley took earlier this year? Phenomenal stuff

That's not good fielding, if he keeps his feet he completes the catch, not that the meaning of life the universe and everything ISN'T #42, but still

Good hustle by the NSW boys. Shaky start but looking good now. Bat till stumps and the bulls will be out of it.

Yeah he didn't really go hard enough between over 40 and 45, went from 90 off 100 to 100 off 117 at the end of the 45th. A good innings but if he'de gone a bit harder than NSW would have a much nicer total. 259 about par here and maybe a bit underpar for this WA lineup.

since green's test debut...

OD comp: 25 overs: 0/171
Tests: 44 overs: 0/118
Shield: 61 overs: 1/222

for a total of 130 overs for 1/511. imo it's time for this PONI to actually earn his spot

Being under the influence of Troy Cooley will do that to you. Have heard that the WA bowling coach Matt Mason isn't much chop either.

From what I've read, this is mostly down to him remodelling his action last winter, and the reason he isn't playing IPL or County stuff this year is because he wants to basically re-learn how to bowl again.

Green had 7? catches dropped off his bowling in the one day cup this season, ive said it before but his figures are mostly down to putrid luck. Hopefully the time off this winter gives him time to relearn his bowling properly and get some teammates who can field
