Australian Domestic Season 2019/20

Tom Flint

International Regular
I could make a highlights video that would make JP Kotze look like the best player in the world if I was selective enough. Doesn't prove anything
I just been watching highlights of gilchrist in 1996 semi final and a big partnership with number 9 to win. The bowling looked awful, can anyone confirm a bloke called thomson for nsw was as bad as he looked on the highlights

Scott Thompson? I think he was a bit of an Ian Harvey/Andrew Tye type, One Day specialist. Only of course not as good.

I'm not sure he was that bad, always important to keep in mind while watching highlights that you're probably just seeing his worst balls and he could bowling a lot of good yorkers and dot balls that obviously don't make the reel

Scott Thompson once took 5/11 for NSW in a one day game, so obviously wasn't too bad that day

He was a pretty good player tbh. Obviously overshadowed in the allrounder stakes for nsw back then because they would have had both Waugh’s and amp playing, so not easy to make a side.

He got in strife at a DK fast bowling clinic at the scg once, which led to Lillee sitting him on his arse with a bouncer after some impertinence

Exactly especially since the highlights focused on gilchrists match winning knock. All the balls shown went for 4 so going to put the bowlers in a bad light. There was a lot of trash death bowling mind you short down leg that he smashed over short fine leg lol

Not as much a I am, I can tell you.

Good to see him slap Stanlake around like a red headed stepchild today.

notably became a better player when moved south to superior facilities and personnel

oh yeah now that you mention it I saw that video the other day too. They just kept bowling short down leg, bizarre

Brad McNamara tho

I find the lack of Don Nash rather disappointing
Confused me as a kid having Dion Nash and Don Nash both around concurrently

IIRC Don Nash may have gone to the Cameron Gannon school of fast bowling if you know what I mean. Hit a big ball too.
