Massive innings by Ferguson here. His international career may never have taken off but this is a great innings in the circumstances.

Already half way through this Sheffield Shield season.

Time flies when everyone except the bowlers suck.

Only 5 batsmen have scored over 400 runs - Harris, Wade, Doolan, S Marsh and Cooper. Only 4 batsmen average over 50 - Pukovski (1 match), S Marsh, Harris and Wade.

8 bowlers have 20 or more wickets - Boland, Mennie, Tremain, Richardson, Copeland, Steketee and Bird. A further 5 bowlers are averaging under 25 and have taken 10 wickets or more. Which roughly works out to half the bowlers required for the competition (6 teams times 4 bowlers per team = 24 bowlers).

Truly a great time to be a promising young bat. You can stand out like dogs balls if you put up some good performances.

Well he could be back for the next match. Apparently he played a club t20 a few days ago, so that's promising.

As for the batting issues, it feels like we need to round up all the young batsmen of the country and send them to a camp run by guys who knew how to score runs or aren't Greg Chappell or other similar idiots, and work on some of these major flaws that make it seem like we're at a stage where it's an inverse of the 90s/00s inundation of bats, but with too much bowling talent.

Guys like Jake Lehmann could be doing so much better if they had some common sense beat into their brains.

NSW probably need C7 to be stripped of the broadcast rights before the next game starts as I don't think they can cope without copers copeland

renshaw scored 345 off 273 for toombul in a two-dayer. stephen to comment
I just had a look at the match and the bowler off note Renshaw faced was McDermott. Mighty fine innings to score a triple in a day.

I don't think he's really too out of form right now. He just seems to find ways of getting out at shield level.

National U19 carnival starts today, Lloyd Pope headlines the SACA squad. Also worth keeping an eye on are Bailey Capel and Henry Dall, a pair of top order bats, Capel is natrually attacking where as Dall is more traditional and stylish. And also Hanno Jacobs, a new ball bowler with decent pace and a nice yorker
