why should australia get 1 million dollars its just a waste of money for a game that will be nothing more than a festival game.
typical of the cricket world not wanting to admit that the nz one-day side is a fantastic team and will beat eny other odi team in world cricket consistantly apart from australia . at least three nzers should be in that world X1Richard Rash said:Although not likely that NZ will be the number 1 side before the April 1 2005 deadline they will quite possibly be ranked second and it seems even more possible that they will not be represented in the rest of world XI which would be a dead set joke considering the last five times they have played aussie in aussie they have won four of them and their ranking proves they are an awesome one day team. Cairns, Oram, Bond (if fit), Vettori, McCullum, Astle and even Fleming should at least be considered for such a team and there should be some form of representation of the kiwi nature in the side. Cairns particually.
They are considered. But I'd choose Flintoff over Cairns and Oram (on current form), Murali over Vettori and Sangakkara over McCullum.Richard Rash said:Cairns, Oram, Bond (if fit), Vettori, McCullum, Astle and even Fleming should at least be considered for such a team and there should be some form of representation of the kiwi nature in the side. flintoff is not in the same class as cairns and if you were chosing on current form than vettori should be chosen instead of muraliJono said:They are considered. But I'd choose Flintoff over Cairns and Oram (on current form), Murali over Vettori .
Well, Ganguly punishes spin (which is the bulk of many attacks) and I think Lara's kinda past it.thirdumpire said:Ganguly??? and no Lara ???.

As for no Kiwis making it into the side, I think thats because they are more of a team than any other side. I dont think any New Zealander would make it if you compare this team man to man with the Kiwis.
Maybe Vettori, but thats only if Murali does not play. And I'd say if Vettori, why not Giles ? Atleast Harbhajan is a proven performer vs the Aussies, if it comes down to needing a replacement for Murali, or even a second spinner as tec suggested.
As for Cairns vs Flintoff, form suggests Flintoff should make it.
And whom would Fleming replace? The only player to make way for Fleming IMO is Kallis.
I had just finished creating a post with relevant stats, when I f****d up and managed to delete it.....cric_manic said:and vettori isn't
His recent capers against India (in both India and Pakistan) have lifted his image in my, and many other's, book.bryce said:i've got no idea why people are picking inzamam ul-haq in their ROW sides, the idea of putting him ahead of ODI players such as youhana and sarwan seems rather inexplicable
