Hmm good news in other league games tho, I'm basically battling it out for 4th spot with 'Yo yos love machine' who got bowled out for 186 against the crappest side in the league, if they lose I'm almost guaranteed 4th - even a close win for my rivals is good because it'll go down to NRR if they beat me in the last game of the season and the other games go as expected (which they nearly always do, because GIF/PAN/TIE and individual match orders seem to have practically no effect).

Oh Dear, just like an episode of Scooby Doo, the baddies plan always gets found out, however cunning it is. Was keeping them below 5 an over, right up until the 40th, when they were 199/1, then the wheels came off in the last ten, as Edworthy and Mullins, who'd done a great job first up, mysteriously forgot how to bowl and shipped 92 off the last 10.

So 292 to win, easily doable on a H+F pitch, but I've got a bad feeling in my guts about this one!

What's your target Scaly?

Excuse me a second while I light a comedy sized cigar from the A-Team Van's cigarette lighter and take a long drag...Ah, that's better, I love it when a plan comes together!!!

Carless dances down the pitch and swipes that high over midwicket! That's gone 10 rows back, what a shot!

Though in my experience of this game, pride usually comes just before you Cack your pants!

Carless misses the ball completely and it hits the pads. Big appeal and he's given! It looked like it pitched outside leg but TV replays show it pitched
on leg stump. Fantastic umpiring
10/1 after two, Staveley needs the game of his life!

I need 313, the two sacrificial lambs I put at the top of the order to use up some overs are out - was hoping they could smash a few off the spinner opening bowler... no doubt they'll end up with good figures tho, because this game doesn't reward any strategy (good or awful) in matches themselves whatsoever. Just who has the better ratings nearly always wins.

They're just teasing with me now. I've lost, I know I've lost, I was 85/5 for Christ sake! Except now my interest is starting to get *****ed again with an unbroken stand of 45 between newboy Greening with 42 (45) and Partridge, 12 (15). Basically these are the last two who can bat, so I know I'm still shafted, but Battrick's a *****-tease! It wants to be careful, or I'll slip some GHB in its drink and I'll contrive whatever result I wish while it's lying out of it on the bed!

All over bar the shoutting now - Two wickets in an over leave me 153/7 after 30. Mind you, Greening is still there on 50 (61), so just maybe?...No Trev, get a grip of yourself, No means No!

Won my game, pretty easily by 10 wickets, Im happy, Abdul kadir hitting his 7th Century overall, and his fourth this season. And my young gun chipping in with one wicket, he's a resp/worth, so im actually quite impressed.

Them-204-10 (46.2 overs)
Singh 5-35

Me- 204-0(32.1 Overs)
Abdul Kadir 115(104)
Chanderpaul 89

Lovely 10 wicket win :D

Interestingly, Bradford (9.5-0-37-4) got the MOM over Aldred (10-0-31-3 and 86*(79))

Ah well, it's only a Man of the Match award :p

Michael Johnson went well (10-1-26-1) on his return to the side, and Sherrington (9-2-22-1) also impressed.

The Aussie Carrington also kept up his great form (86*(77))

Lok'Tar 181 ao (48.5)
Jamees 999ers 185/0 (25.3)

Oh joy, my morale has gone down 2 levels after the usual tripe from the match engine. I TIEd, so my fitness goes up... 1 level - it'll probably drop the same level after training.

Looks like the engine has decided I shouldn't win because I don't have the better ratings, thus no collapse... game over already.
And how exactly would the collapse have helped you then?

312-3 plays 82 all out - so clearly tripe in the match engine...

If you actually had a clue what you were talking about and looked at the personnel you'd have noticed they only had 5 bats who're at best slightly better than Pace/Cahalane and 6 rabbits, which in any other level results in rubbish scores most of the time - but in Battrick it nearly always doesn't make any difference. Their best bowler is at best slightly better than my best bat, but again in real life it would have been very unlikely to resul in a joke score of 82, after getting something similarly ludicrous last time I played them. Basically if I'd have put my batsmen in their normal order I'd have got the same batting ratings as them, their bowling is slightly better, but this should be negated by the fact that they open with a spin bowler (who of course took 3 wickets - utter sloblock again) and that my fielding is 3 levels higher. Anyway the results overall worked in my favour so I'll hope that my team gets slightly better ratings than who I just lost to at some stage next season and I'll expect to win by 150+ runs...

Bot-bashing again on a flat pitch, made 367/2 (Gillete 182*, Ashton 144) then bowled them out for 186. Got my best ever seam rating (remarkable) though largely because I cheated - my bowling attack consisted of my best seamer plus four spinners (only one of which is any good). Woeful/competent bowler managed to take 2-39.

Two-level boost to fitness and morale which I badly needed, hopefully it results in decent ratings next week.

This guy up for sale -
Kevin Pratley (59473)
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, fresh
A steady player with mediocre leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: spacemonkeys
Nationality: Australia
Age: 21 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 26,389
Wages: £7,417 p/w
Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: competent
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: respectable
Fielding: feeble

Looks good, but he gets spanked around in league games, probably due to his stamina.

Saw that guy, would've been able to afford him if I didn't buy Louis, but it would take way too long to get his stamina up to a usable level, especially for FC matches. On two nets I suspect it would take something like 12 weeks to get him to competent, which I think will be the minimum level for bowlers in FC.

This is odd. I get them down to 116/8 but now their 9 and 10 batsmen are smashing my bowlers around - they've put on a 53 run partnership :( .

edit: 67 now.

Oh that stinks
but what doesn't stink is

End of Over 43: 222-2, runrate=5.16
Staff 7-1-42-1
Dickson* 6 (4 balls)
Buckle 97 (132 balls)

Last Wicket: Paterson b. Staff 83 (FOW: 201/2)
Nutter got out for 13 angry at that
but Si Buckle is batting very efficiently and is just about to bring up his 3rd career century
