I tried to tell him to keep training them otherwise it's just a waste but he won't listen to me, to be honest.
When you show me your Remarkable+ players i will listen.

But yeah, i might keep on training them, i might just save and buy a decent player, even though by the time i have enough for a decent player now, it will only be enough for a resp-abys 29yr old.

Still a long way left in the season anyway, ill work all that out later. :)

Man i wish i didn't have to go to my dad shop today. I missed what was probably the closest game i ever had in BT.

Sandringham - 3/281 (50)

Lakmal 107(111)
Jeithoon 0/43(10)
Muralitharan 1/42(10)
Baptiste 2/72(10)

Jaffna Jets - 5/283 (49.1)

Ellis 57(62)
Quintin 98*(115) MOTM
Muralitharan 61(71)
Allison 22(8)

Very happy with the ratings too:

Code:
Jaffna Jets Sandringham
Top Order: [B]respectable[/B] mediocre
Middle Order: mediocre mediocre
Lower Order: worthless abysmal
Seam Bowling: mediocre mediocre
Spin Bowling: mediocre feeble
Fielding: woeful feeble
Looks like Muralitharan and Quintin have come of age and Jeithoon continues to impressive with his defensive bowling, just needs to start taking some wickets. Allison what a freak 22 off 8 bowls stole the game away from them, another great buy. :)

Also got 80k in gate reciepts which is kind of disappointing after i expanded my ground, was hoping for 100k. Got a big game coming up against the team coming equal first with mw in two weeks.

How about these two, then:

Code:
Name Age	Rating Batting
Mark Reed 23 39744 remarkable
Dylan Sandwith 21 50287 remarkable
Both with superb+ concentration, and I don't think Sandwith's too far from popping. Reed's getting trained until he hits wonderful...just because 8-)

I've also got three 20/21yo bowlers at superb/superb or quality/superb. I can't check the exact stats as I don't have BT access at work :@

Can't remember how many of them were in my starting lineup, but they've all been trained up from resp/comp, with no more than one primary net each, over the last few seasons.

With the players you've got, you'd be the same or better in a couple of seasons' time.

UPDATE

Found some very old spreadsheets (including one from the Battrick Beta period!), and can tell you when I got the players mentioned above:

Starting Lineup
(or pretty close to it)
Reed - resp/feeb 19yo bat - - - now remarkable/qual
Hirst - med/abys 17yo bowl - - - superb/qual
Brooker - med/feeb 17yo bowl - - - superb/qual

Season 1
(pulled or bought in - I can't tell)
Sandwith - prof/abys 17yo bat - - - remarkable/remarkable

Season 2 (pulled, I think)
John - resp/woe 17yo bowl - - - qual/qual

Looks as though I put two primary nets on Reed and John for about a season. Other than that, it's been one all the way.

Convinced? ;-)

My game finally comes up (and presumably all the rest of them as well):

End of Over 41: 220-2, runrate=5.37, reqrunrate=6.67 (279-3)
Barness 6-0-43-0
Dillon* 46 (44 balls)
Armstrong 58 (73 balls)

Last Wicket: Nile lbw b. Mccrave 78 (FOW: 127/2)

Would have needed a higher run rate but Armstrong hit a four and a six in both the 39th and 40th overs.

Good bowling from all of my lot except for Cahalane who got hammered yet again.

Woohoo, didn't give myself much chance of winning this one (top of the table clash) but managed to pull it out. Won by 4 wickets

Pretty happy atm

Nice and easy win today, probably easier than expected against Pakistani Cobra. Bowled them out for for 180, 3 each for Rahimuddin and Rhodes. Rhodes and Umar got the runs easily, now to get thrashed in the cup and another important game next week.

I had a bit of a crunch match - away at the best team in my league. Fortunately, he'd gotten drunk and forgotten to set his team orders! So, just Normal and a strong first XI to contend with...

Code:
            NorfolkENchance Withington Wonderers
Top Order: quality superb
Middle Order: competent respectable
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: proficient quality
Spin Bowling: remarkable strong
Fielding: feeble feeble
I'm Withington, BTW, and GFIed. Just as well that Freaky didn't get the chance to do the same!

Bowled them out for 146 in 40.2 overs, then scored 146/2 in 23.4...which was nice

That puts me 4 points clear at the top, with vastly superior NRR, having beaten both my main rivals pretty soundly.

Div II here I come! Yay!

Ok wondering what pitch I should go for, these are my last ratings - I won:
Code:
              Scaly Piscine CC
Top Order: strong
Middle Order: competent
Lower Order: woeful
Seam Bowling: respectable
Spin Bowling: proficient
Fielding: mediocre
Team I'm playing, they lost:
Code:
              Chonner CC
Top Order: respectable
Middle Order: mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: proficient
Spin Bowling: feeble
Fielding: woeful
I usually have 4 seamers and 1 spinner, but I'm probably gonna dump my prof-comp medium pacer for a (high) strong-feeble spinner, so I'll probably get proficientx3 seam and respectablex 2 spin ratings.

I don't want to play on a dusty pitch, they seem to throw up upsets and weird results. I'm thinking maybe flat or hard & fast. If the weather is sunny I figure I'll win easily, but obviously I can't control that, their best bowlers are two mediums and a FM.

Sounds sensible to me. How defensive/attacking are your bowlers and your opponent's?

If you've got the more defensive attack (esp. spinners), you could try Hard & Fast - suits batsmen and fast bowlers, and you say that Chonner don't have any good quicks. I used to get some decent results on these by just squeezing the runs out of team...but ended up getting annoyed by star players scoring shedloads against me.

Other than that, Flat sounds pretty sensible - your batting should carry you through.

Not as comfortable as I had hoped, and I required Ghandi's 1st XI pedigree to carry me through. I did however play three spinners on a green wicket. I'm also now back in the automatic promotion slots.

Well I figure I should play a friendly this week, so challenge away. Will play a significantly weaker lineup than today, I have 1550 members with over the moon confidence.

Ended up winning by 80 runs after they were bowled out for 219.

Moodley man of the match again for his 120* (118) and 3/11 (10). Shame my new trainee (17yo resp/med batting with feeble stamina) got out for a golden, but it's probably the only game he'll play this season.
