The Heath CC: 292/6 (50) Grant 132, Gibson 58*, Sutton 52
Riddings: 123/10 (32.2) Talbot 3/11, Swift 2/18

Pretty easy win in the end, but I'm not that happy with the performance. I felt that we should have easily made 300 against a pretty awful bowling attack, and they were going along nicely at 82/1 and 105/2 before a traditional BT collapse set in.

I still haven't really settled on my best lineup yet, but the positives from this match were Grant's second century of the season, and Gibson's unbeaten half-century at more than a run a ball on debut. Talbot did well with the ball as well after hitting a useful cameo of 21 from 12 balls. Still improvements to be made, but that's 4 wins out of 4 and I'm firmly at the top of my league

All over, Ashton just a shot away from an unlikely half-century.

And that's the end of the match. Asterix XI won by 10 wickets.
Doobie Bombers 55-10
Asterix XI 56-0

End of Over 11: 56-0, runrate=5.09
Pietersen 5-0-40-0
Ashton* 47 (39 balls)
Cuss 9 (23 balls)

Liking my ratings, had to double check that I had in fact TIE'd. Shame about the fielding.

My first innings just finished, posted 309/3, mostly off the back of a Maiden century for my young batsman Hislop which I'm pleased with. Half centuries for Gillespie who was moved up to open again and my young wicketkeeper Gittens, both coming in pretty quick time. Captain Allen making up for his crap innings last week with a little 22 off 19 balls cameo at the end of the innings.

Pitch is a green pitch too, so I'm pretty confident my bowlers will perform.

edit: They're currently 5 down for 8 runs. Looks like I'm going to steamroller to victory this week as well. Makes me sad when I think about where I might have been on the table if I hadn't missed the first two games. :\

Edit2: All over, skittled 'em for 32. Would have been less but the batsman who got stranded while all the others fell down the opposite end smashed a 6 and a 4 off my best bowler the over before the last wicket fell. Carruthers finished with figures of 5-21, and we ended up winning by 277 runs. These last two matches flatter my team so much, we're not as good as it makes us look. xD

I lost today, bit gutted as I posted 300+ and they knocked 'em off with ease and my sensational bowler got hit for 50-odd.

Decent enough ratings though:

Citzens Erased 213-1 (40.5)

Expected to lose as I TFI'd after a few close matches. **** continues his exceptional form, while Vijay Hitish, a keeper/batsman pulled at the end of last year has also hit a couple of tons and is now my only other batsman of note. Bowling wise, I need a bit more strength in the seam attack and probably one more strong batsman.

Hm, Just been checking out my next opponents, who are currently undefeated and at the top of the league, and by the looks of the reporters summary I might just have a slightly better team, but I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference for nub teams. I think I might be able to pull a win out of the bag though. How much does GFI affect the players?

Challenge sent to Beard XI if you're up for it mate :)
Ack, sorry, was too late to accept. Got destroyed last night, so have spent the entire day on the sofa watching atrocious movies. Turns out Top Gun is every bit as brilliant the fortieth time you watch it, despite still being utterly awful. Weird.

Wow, that was a rubbish performance from my batsmen. Looked like they were going to do it too; they were 3/81 at one stage. Thank god for Canning

Get lost. :p

My team has been much better this season, I certainly would be confident of putting most sides to the sword. ;)
