I'm confident Richards would have had the ability to adapt his game to the openers slot pretty easily, and I think a lineup with Richards/Headley/Weekes/Lara is a fair bit stronger than Hunte/Headley/Richards/Lara.

I too find this fascination with selecting a known opener to be a little silly. Anyone really think Hunts would score more runs at number 2 than Headley or Worrell or Viv?

At least Sir Frank did actually open the batting for WI on a few occasions. Plus, he's the best possible candidate for the captaincy.

Also very surprised at how Garner v Holding is shaping up.
