All Time West Indies XI game

Red

The normal awards that everyone else has
The West Indies second XI would beat many countries’ first XIs.
Without wanting to influence, if the first XI is something like:

Greenidge
Hunte
Headley
Lara
Richards
Sobers
Dujon
Marshall
Gibbs
Garner
Ambrose

The second XI could be:

Haynes
Worrell *
Kanhai
Weekes
Walcott +
Lloyd
Constantine
Roberts
Holding
Hall
Ramadhin

That side would beat plenty of other nation's first XIs

I too find this fascination with selecting a known opener to be a little silly. Anyone really think Hunts would score more runs at number 2 than Headley or Worrell or Viv?

I think Sobers will fill the spin needs sufficiently.

Maybe Curtley could keep and Viv could bowl some off spin.

They used to be more flexible with batting line ups earlier. It's only in the last few decades that it has become a rigid thing.

While I agree opening is a specialty position...

er, Frank Worrell to open

Lara and Richards at 4 and 5

Holding.

Surprised Garner seems to be winning ahead of Mikey...

Cricketer Of The Year
At least Sir Frank did actually open the batting for WI on a few occasions. Plus, he's the best possible candidate for the captaincy.

Also very surprised at how Garner v Holding is shaping up.
