All Time Australian XI game

Toohey vs Fairfax was tricky, obvs Fairfax average is way higher but that seems against the norm, and has a HS of just 65.
Fairfax's FC average of just 29 in an era not known for difficulty of batting is a much truer indication of his ability, but you add in his bowling and it becomes more difficult.

LOL, I was thinking Fairfax was Kippax for some reason. Oops.

This is a really interesting thread. Hilfenhaus being rated more highly than Kasper or Bich is itstl.

Ended up going Yardley ahead of Laver.

Last question:
- Name the Australia O captain

Bichel would be a shoe-in for the Aus P XI.

Vic Richardson & Laver are both very unlucky. Arthur Chipperfield, Ernie McCormick, Jack Lyons, Chuck Fleetwood-Smith, Tom Horan, Charlie McLeod, Lindsay kline, Dirk Wellham & George Tribe are more names that spring to mind. Wade, Jarvis & Zoherer are also available to 'keep.

Great job on running the thread Nufan. Already loving the England & Zimbok threads. I'll go with Tom Moody as captain.

Long Tom is the skipper of this interesting bunch.

This has been good fun, really like how the teams shaped up. I am curious to know which 11 most experienced Test players did not make the teams above. I can think of Tim May who played quite a few. Ill try and work it out when im not on my phone.

John Dyson is the most experienced who missed out that I can see, with 30 matches.

Dyson, Gleeson (29), Bright (25), May (24), GHS Trott (24), O'Keeffe (24), Higgs (22), Veivers (21), Hopkins (20), Garrett (19), Favell (19) and 12th man Bichel (19) are the eleven most experienced to miss out that I've determined, although I may have missed someone. Unsurprisingly a rather bowler heavy bunch.
