All Time Australian XI game

Flametree

International 12th Man
Sheahan

Any - I'm just as intrigued by the thought of a Bangladesh third xi as I am by an English 11th xi. Doing India would be fun just to see who the seam bowlers would be by say team 10.... (Patel and Nehra?)

Laird and Taylor to open, though I think there's still a few decent openers left while we seem to have run out of middle order bats (Toohey and Handscomb next is it?) so if they'd be better off at 3 and 4, I'm ok with Cowan and Elliott....

Zoehrer to keep

Cummins and Kasprowicz

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
Smith’s current Test average of 63.55 after 60 Tests is the highest of any player in history at the same stage of his career, ahead of Sir Garry Sobers' mark of 61.96. fwiw
How many players have averaged over 63.5 over any 60 test periods in their career, I wonder.. would be a fair few I am sure. This isn't to highlight that I don't rate Smith extremely highly, it is to highlight that a big test run like this isn't entirely unusual.

I think the thing that is unusual is not that he's averaged over 60 in a 60 test period. It's that he's done it in a 60 test period that includes his ordinary performances from the start of his career. If he performs better than he did in those first 10 tests in the next 10 his average over 60 tests will go up even higher.
