AB retires from all forms of Cricket

tony p

First Class Debutant
Retired from all forms of cricket, including T20. So no chance of the BBL again.

Great career, easily in the best 2 or 3 Batsman of his time for about 8-10 years.

Third greatest ODI batsman after Sachin and Viv.
And to think he played hockey, rugby, tennis, water polo and curling for SA as well as winning seven Nobel prizes in everything from medicine, physics and chemistry to the peace gong, all while chairing the general assembly of the United Nations. Fair effort.

He didn’t ever play curling. Nobody plays curling.

I’m a bit surprised he didn’t retire from certain t20 leagues but keep playing in others, in keeping with the pick and choose nature of his career overall. A shame he wasn’t one for always being there for his country. A terrific talent.

Whatever it takes!!!
The second guy to attain genius levels of batsmanship, I have had the privilege of watching after Brian Lara. Will be missed.
