5th Match - India v Pakistan

The fact that Josh Inglis' batting was way more entertaining than the game last evening explains the state of the rivalry.

Well, this just means Hardik's knock was super puzzling. It almost seems as if Rohit and Gambhir left it upto the individuals if they wanna play for Virat's 100 or their own runs.
Haha...I think all of India's XI know the assignment when Kohli gets near three figures. It's bats down and get him to 100, no matter what.

But they didn't. That is the funny part. It looked like Virat was too tired to play big shots and had given up trying to get the 100 quickly and that is why Shreyas and then Hardik went for it. But then Axar came in and jogged a single where he could have had 3

A question for the Pak fans here @trundler @nightprowler10 @shortpitched713 @smash84 @Fusion @Xuhaib

Will this side do better for Pak? And is it time to reconsider Harris Rauf as an ODI bowler?

Saim Ayub
Fakhar Zaman
Babar Azam
Saud Shakeel
Mohammed Rizwan (c) (wk)
Salman Agha
Khushdil Shah / Faheem Ashraf
Shaheen Afridi
Naseem Shah
Harris Rauf / Second wrist spinner
Abrar Ahmed
Sure, bit probably not against India. It's been a psychological uphill battle for whoever we've fielded against India this last decade+

@ashley bach @SillyCowCorner1 I don't mind pointing out numerical quirks in stats/scores. But you guys are posting some really ordinary updates. 32-1. Really?
Appreciate the input mate,

32-1 is very high in our postings. It’s one of the most obvious ones. Compare that to 32-0 or 32-2 (which we never would ever post, btw), it sequentially is cool in our eyes.

Best,
Sillycowcorner1 :)

This game has also questioned my understanding of fast bowling.

While lean bowlers like Deepak Chahar and Sandeep Sharma struggle to touch 140 kph mark on regular basis, Harshit Rana bowled many deliveries at 91 mph speeds despite not looking like a typical athlete.

Deepak Chahar is a bit of a body builder and I generally think too much of muscle mass is also not ideal for a fast bowler. You wanna have strong core and stuff but otherwise, you dont really want a hulking size or anything.

I agree that a strong core is a must for pace "scientifically speaking", but Harshit seems to love his carbs with the kind of physique he has.

Really, what it takes to bowl fast? A greek god physique like Johnson, a skinny teenager like Amir or a chubby Harshit Rana? It will remain to be a mystery...

I agree fully with the article on cricinfo. Pakistan's cricket is in terminal decline. I am not happy to write that. Maybe, maybe, they can turn it around via some young blood, but I am not optimistic.

We had a few from the West Indies who consistently bowed over 90 mph:

The bodybuilder Tino Best
The short and skiddy Fidel Edwards
Under 6 foot Jerome Taylor
And then there was the young Kemar Roach who was rapid.

It's genetic. Preponderance of fast-twitch muscle fibres help with explosive movements. Those fat Oly weightlifters have some of the highest vertical leaps in the world, so big mass can still propel stuff at high speeds.
