This might even be the record for most catches in an innings by a sub fielder?

Good chance at most catches in a series by the same sub fielder too I reckon.

Siraj was probably the only one that celebrated that wicket, the ball kept low which isn't a good sign for the Indian batsmen and Stokes is back in now.

India have put in the kind of performance reserved for dead rubbers one game in advance. Wonder what the dressing room was like during that nice 10 day-long break between Tests for them to turn up like this.

Surely Dawson should be England's first choice spinner ahead of Bashir, not only is he a better spinner he also strengthens England's lower order.

At the very least he should be on the Ashes tour down under, normally England pick two spinners for that tour and he should be one of them.

Nice to see that Joe Root > Punter is now confirmed.

India are cooked here, Stokes to come out in the morning fresh without cramp to slog to a 150 and unassailable 300+ lead.

Lesser players have got hundreds in Australia

Almost 40 hundreds and none against your biggest rival at their home is a major blot on his test career.

Smith on the other hand was greatness in Ashes 2019. Hostile crowd, concussed, yet was the standout player of the entire series.

Root by his standards has been pretty underwhelming in comparison.
Pains me to say it, but Smith would've racked up 50 hundreds if it wasn't for those dastardly kids!

I believe he has made comments to the effect of not wanting to go if he isn't going to play.
He has done well for the Sunrisers in the SA20 so may feel if he isn't going to play he would rather be playing in SA then warning the bench in aus.

my take exactly. root's unequivocally an excellent batsman and has been a great and dependable servant of english cricket both home and abroad in every country except for one. he's excelled in poor england teams and england teams that can win. but he has to deliver in australia to go into the parthenon. it's for the very same reason i don't put warner up there with other aussie legends, couldn't get it done in england.
