I'm wondering if there's anyone in Test Cricket with at least 6 Centuries and a lower average than Ashwin?

Haha Ashraful was such a ****ing weirdo.Ashraful only, with an avg of 24
That's incorrect! When Shastri (and Kohli) were in charge, India was winning in England by 2-1. Shastri wasn't there when India lost in SA in 2021. Ganguly had already caused a big rift in the side. On what basis was Shastri removed? T20 World Cup!Kohli-Shastri was overrated. Excellent fast bowling attack and home record, but they underachieved for their potential. Failed to win a test series in England, South Africa, and New Zealand. Won 2 in Australia, but the more remarkable of them was under Rahane.
Greg Chappell wasn't too popular as the coach of India either from memory.**** off Gill! I am sick of all the G named Indian cricketers who end up in a leadership position.
Gambhir, Gill, Gavaskar, Ganguly
(Ganguly is the egomaniac responsible for ending Shastri-Kohli).
And it was that same Shastri led India that decided to run away from Manchester to play IPL, so no moral victory claiming there. Everyone keeps hyping up the Kohli-Shastri era like it was on par with Graeme Smith's SA or Ponting/Waugh's Aus. Some things were great, like the improved fast bowling attack and fielding, but their batting was really poor/thin, which lost them some key series like South Africa/England 2018, New Zealand 2020 (before the pandemic), etc. That's incorrect! The last three test series outcomes under Shastri before he was fired!
Aus 2-1 win (away)
Eng 3-1 win (home)
Eng 2-1 up (away)
Agreed. Kuldeep's lower order batting has also improved a bit. Either way, I would have liked to see him at least get a consistent run. Instead, he gets played for 1-2 matches only to get discarded quickly.Sundar/jadeja getting turn and picking wickets makes you realise how ridiculous this non-selection of Kuldeep really is.
Like you said in the first comment, Johan is just doing what everyone else does here in the name of gambhiring. Hope he alone doesn't get any points due to this.Alas the community has made it very clear that they think this sort of posting is fantastic and anyone who dislikes it is just being a downer.
Though I think at this point this is just blatant, blatant trolling.
It was the likes of Rohit Sharma who desperately wanted to return to play for their franchise at any cost, being "captain" of their franchise. So the correct way to frame it is - The IPL merchants like Sharma decided to run away and caused the whole team to abort the test. And it was that same Shastri led India that decided to run away from Manchester to play IPL. Conditions have played a role for sure, but India's bowling has been abysmal. No ability to maintain lines and lengths, with rhythm. Bumrah was okay but not at his usual best, Siraj is back to his hit and miss ways, Kamboj clearly has nerves. Wickets don't need to fall every over, but a bowling attack should be able to maintain the intensity to give the sense that something can happen every moment. That's what Australia and South Africa do very well, which is why you never feel they're out of the game even if they don't pick up wickets quickly.I wouldn't be too harsh on India, they haven't been helped by the weather, it was overcast when they batted and it has been sunny for England batting.
Stokes should get a job as a weatherman when he retires, I doubt even the professional weathermen could predict the English weather as well as he can
