4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

cummins, hazelwood and starc currently in the process of signing a big thank you card that will shortly be delivered to the indian bowling attack.
Eng would have a very good chance of winning the ashes if they picked their best team there for all five games tbh (Robinson, Archer, Bethell, and Dawson should all be picked). It would be one of the rare times Eng would have a better batting lineup than Aus.

These are the 30th opening pair in Tests to make it to 5 century stands. Their average of 45 is middling but as you'd expect they take top spot for scoring rate where it's been recorded.

I do agree with Cricinfo's claim that Hobbs and Rhodes faced at least 13 balls, though I'm not sure it's much to go on to get that estimate.

even Liam Dawson's arrival in the team is a reason to celebrate for England

what would he need to do to book his place on the plane to Australia?

About as unimpressive a showing from India's bowlers as I can remember. At least in the earlier game where these two put on 200 on a far flatter wicket, the bowlers had a few moments during the first half. This has been uninspired and enthusiasm-sapping.

Gee if only we had a left-arm wristspinner waiting in the ranks to pose some fresh questions.

It was very much all or nothing as an opening partnership, and the difference between the two was 'are Australia playing at home on the same pitches that got Adam Voges his average'.
