What's the deal with Afridi? He hasn't been bowling much different in this tournament than he normally does has he. Is it the pitches?
Just about always is with spinners. Nasser Hussain was making a point that it was a lot like how teams used to play Anil Kumble outside home because it didn't turn much.

He was def bowling too short quite a bit though I thought.

What match were you watching, Pakistan never had Australia on the ropes. Wahab bowled some good balls and a good spell but Australia were never on the ropes, that's never in like never ever ever.
Try reading the post properly. Had the catches been held...

on the ropes (def.) - On the verge of defeat or collapse, helpless

- in a desperate or hopeless position; close to defeat or failure

I don't think that phrase means what you think it means.
Read the post properly clown

That's right you stupid f... Get personal when someone criticises your precious cricket team
Such strong emotions, so cute...

It's always funny when people think catches being held is luck and not skills. I mean it's like it's been happening since 2011...

Misbah not having his bells fall off was luck, the catches were lack of fielding skills.

And **** maqsood for refusing to field at bat pad and making 41 year old Misbah, as captain, to do it. Pakistan don't deserve a man like Misbah. Maqsood should be dropped for that.
Yeah that was pathetic, credit to the good man for doing that, that showed great character.
The helmet was the wrong size for Maqsood and instead of wasting time, Misbah did it himself and when the right helmet came, Maqsood went back to that position. It was the management that's to blame for sending the wrong helmet.

He doesn't deserve any sympathy though. He's a hack just like the rest of the Pak team.

When the par score has been 300 odd, Pak hasn't even gotten close. That's terrible batting. I don't know why they can't score big runs or that they always play predetermined shots, have no technique, slog everything and have no strike rotation, etc. Has Shahid Afridi single-handedly ruined Pak cricket due to the way he bats?

Pakistan really need to sort their batting and fielding out to compete with others. And it needs to start at the grass root level.

The bowling is pretty good and once Amir is back we will probably have one of the best bowling unit.

It's because the batsmen have no proper gears. They can't push it into the gaps and convert twos into threes. They don't have the technique to see off a good spell of bowling up front and then be calm enough to stay at the crease knowing things will get easier later on. Most of them are really one dimensional. Guys like Shehzad at the top get bogged down when the bowling's tight and don't go long as often as they should, the Maqsoods and Akmals just throw it away, Misbah tries but in chasing situations his batting does put pressur eon the guy at the other end, and Afridi is Afridi.

Ah, so Misbah wore Maqsoods box for an over. Wonder what Jamshed has to say about this.

Say what you want. Sresanth had the tools to be India's greatest bowler by far. Unfortunately he himself was a tool too.

Wasim Akram was saying something along the lines that if Afridi is the role model of the youngsters, there is not much hope for Pakistan cricket.

Even Shoaib Akhtar poured in and said there are five afridis in the batting line up. Can understand the reason but the way he is being blamed starting from former cricketers to fans is a bit unfair for me. Its not a new thing, he has batted like this for entirity and the expectation from him was just too much. If the youngstars that are coming through does not understand the meaning of building innings and all that and just want to bat like afridi, then there is a major problem in somewhere else starting from root. Its harsh to blame the man for this. In addition, he is a frontline bowler too. I guess minus the bowling he had no chance purely on batting skills. Every young player should understand why afridi is afridi. I mean he sets bad examples and its easy for a kid to fall into the trap of worshipping him as hero but once his cricketing career sets off it should be pretty clear by then that he cant just be a hack if hes primarily a batsman.

Hope made some sense there.
