Didn’t watch it - was Nair that bad?

Was already hoping he’d do well just because of the comeback story, but seeing him safe in the cordon makes me want him to do well even more. Won’t be surprised if it gives him the edge over Sai to get selected again.
He was all at sea. Probably should be dropped

England have fallen into that 'bowling one way' tactic now and will probably claim it worked as a wicket falls after they've clubbed another 80 or 90 odd in boundaries.

Most runs in a test by an Indian batsman:

1.Gavaskar- 344
2.Laxman- 340
3.Ganguly- 330
4.Gill- 320

Goes past Sehwag's 319 in one innings.

Gill is 25 away from 500 runs for the series. Can anyone look up what's the fastest anyone has ever reached 500 in a series? It's probably bradman or something I'm guessing.

After the 2nd test where Graeme Smith belted the English attack where he scored 277 in the 1st test & then 85 in the 2nd innings he then back it up and hit 259 in the 2nd test.

He had scored 621 runs in 3 innings after 2 tests had completed... it was the most ever after 2 tests I read.

Amazing thing was he 'only' finished with about 714 runs for the 5 match series after he went barren in the next 3 tests.

The most vivid memory I have of Caddick is him getting smashed all around Christchurch by Astle.

And Tendulkar's hook off his bowling in 2003 World Cup.

Lovely action tho. Admittedly, I have only watched him when he was past his prime.
He was great in the second innings if he felt up to it, conditons suited, and the opposition were out of sorts. Other than that, not so much.

was this the series where one of the English lads said that Kumble doesn't spin the ball an inch and Anil proceeded to murder them?
That was Keith Fletcher, who was managing the side. Apparently based on how Kumble went in SA a few months prevously. Fletcher's next stroke of genious was to pack the side with seamers in the first test, whereas the hosts did the opposite. But what did the locals know, eh?
