2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

don't expect England to be as lacklustre and ignorant as they were this test, for they will pick a much better XI for the remainder of the series, just as they did in the Ashes 2023

I think play could possibly start after an early lunch, giving India 82 overs today.

Edit- nope, play to start in 20 mins.

80 overs left in the day

Embarrassing to bat the way we did pre/post Tea in hindsight

This will be a pivotal moment in the series if we draw this and ensures England win this series

Gambhir should be sacked. Too many miscalculations and blunders over the past 10 months.

Australia would've sacked their coach a long time ago if they won 1 test in 10 games.

Our test team needs a fresh thinktank.

Same applies to India. Inexperienced side gaining more and more experience and bowlers getting into rhythm. Bumrah and Kuldeep chilling on the bench.

The way Jadeja batted was inexplicable. If the goal was to set 600, then they could have got that 6-7 overs sooner if Jadeja had batted properly rather than at SR of 25-30

I think they are spooked by Bazball especially with what happened in the last test and the huge partnership on day 3.

Either way cowardly tactics by a glorified 'mentor' parading around as coach.

Unfortunately, I see England surviving this.

Anyone else from these shores always wish the English media was as fanatical about cricket as posts like this always seem to imply?
Granted I don't read much of the print media, but I doubt whether there was much anguish about the wickets in India on our last couple of tours.

Whereas I do remember a great deal of Australian angst about the wickets here in 2015 after Broad skittled them at Trent Bridge.

I read, and heard, plenty of anguish about the state of Indian pitches especially in 2021 from the likes of Mark Butcher, Paul Newman etc

first pitch in Chennai was good that series, competitive game, both could've won, good for batting at the start and then kept breaking. The other wickets were so bad we went back to 1890s level of wickets, if we do that, India would compain too.

2024 wickets were way better
