6 English batsman now go into the 2nd innings trying to avoid the dreaded 'pair'

Just my thoughts.

Regardless of the outcome of the match, way too defensive captaincy / management decision to bat this long. It's negative and definitely playing not to lose.

If England comes out trying to win this, they deserve to lose, bat "normally" and go to Lords up 1 - 0

@Johan , no excuse if Root doesn't ton up here, it's a new ball pitch, but un-real flat thereafter.

India obviously have the advantage, a feisty attack, incredible score board pressure and arguably the best cordon (minus keeper) in the world right now. Needs to be wary of going too defensive again as he's done in the first innings.

Most runs by an Indian in England: Dravid- 602.

Most runs by an Indian in test series : Gavaskar - 774

Most runs by anyone in a test series : Bradman - 974
... Well,Dravid's record will go .. Period!

Gill subsequently needs 190 runs in the next 3 tests to surpass Gavaskar's total but you never just know when sudden bad form can strike... or India perhaps just batting once in a test or 2 if the English batsman collapse during one of their innings..

Bradman's record will continue to stay.

Crawley is just so ****ing terrible. Scammiest test career of this era because of how many people he's somehow convinced into thinking he's ok.
