How good must Gooch feel knowing his record that he's held for over 30 years + lives on.... just.

He'll probably have it for at least another decade or so & the fact that those fools are still out there batting tells you that technically Gill could've scored 470 runs + if he was allowed to.
Im surprised India batted on for as long as they did. They should of declared when the lead was 500. Anyway the declaration has come now.

If England manage to score 396 in this innings it'll be the 2nd most runs scored in total between both teams in aggregate in test match history- 1816.

if we held our chances eng may have been rolled sooner and gill could have batted more defensively and got his triple in the 3rd innings

Surely Baz isn't saying 'let's go for the victory lads' in the dressing room?
Doubt it. They’re probably thanking their lucky stars Gambhir is an idiot. They’ll bat normally at 4rpo or whatever and draw this.

Gill's got 585 runs already... The last there was an 800+ series in test cricket was Mark Taylor's Ashes in 1989

LOL they batted on to 607. That’s a psychological win for England. Makes them look petrified of England’s batting.

The whole thing with bazball is that they've dubbed everything down to have a crystal clear mindset of constant attack.

They're 100% going to try and chase it down.
I don't think they will to be honest, they'll just try to survive the first 20 overs and play their natural game, I don't think they'll start hacking if the RRR is too high.

Stark contrasts here when you consider how Anderson used to send Gill's stumps cartwheelimg even if asked to bowl in his sleep.
