Any chance of Colin coming into the T20 side at 7 for Jamieson until fergo is fit? Finding 4 overs between him and neesh shouldn't be too hard and it means your not batting santner @7 and Southee @8.
For a World T20 on Indian pitches, Mitchell or McConchie might be better if you want to share the 5th bowler role between 2 batting all rounders. Mitchell more likely to make runs against spinners. McConchie a more useful 6th bowling option on slow and turning tracks.

Mcconchie had a dreadful time with ball In hand during the Super smash didn't he? Mitchell+neesh in tandem for 4 could definitely work though, Mitchell's T20 numbers with ball are far better than I remembered.

Plunket Shield resumes in 2 days time, 11th March. Bangladesh ODI series starts on 20th March. Finishing T20s on 1st April (man that's late).

Last Plunket Shield game starts 3rd April finishing 6th April.

I'm expecting some of the youngsters Sears and Allen to get some blackcap games in probably the 20 format.

Hopefully, especially Allen, they will work it so he gets maximum Plunket Shield games as well, rather than ****ing bench warming and camps. Sears less so concerned about missing too many rounds, due to bowler bodies fragility. But, my god, Allen would benefit from his game rounding out before he specialises to soon on white ball. Should get plenty of opportunities to step up - with Conway and Ravindra missing.

Plunket Shield. Only 1 game started so far, others rain.
Only thing of note so far is that McClure is also opening for Canterbury even in the FC match.

Is being live streamed. Although nothing on there at the moment.

Wagner back for ND.

Was interesting that Cricket Wellington didn't mention Allen in their PS squad press release yesterday. I assumed that he had been sent for 2 week break in Tauranga to work with the NZ batting coach before his T20I debut vs Bang - but they must have been waiting for RCB media release. Good stuff.

From memory, during one of the tests the commentators mentioned Henry Nicholls hadn't been run out in first class cricket. Looks like Carter has sold him down the river today

^ Note: This stat could be completely wrong, it's fully on my memory, I'm not sure how to find out.

Good to see Nicholls and Mitchell bat well at any rate. I really rate them both.

So what is Finn Allen actually doing? The IPL squads aren't assembled yet. Other IPL contracted players are in the ODI squad. Why would this preclude him from playing for Wellington this round and probably the next?

Think Phillips is accentuating that Steve-Smith setup far too much imo, but unlike Smith it's making him totally legside focused. Ben Horne also seems to be copying it - yuck.

Man it is great having first-class cricket available to watch live on Youtube! Less great is watching Matt Henry bowling consistently short of a length with a new ball in hand and on a surface that seems to have some movement in it. He and Doug Bracewell both seem to have forgotten what a good length in the long-form game should look like.

On paper, that CD XI looks very good. Apart from Toole playing for either Bracewell or Wheeler - that is their first XI. Very rare.
