2020/21 New Zealand Domestic Season

Yes I would like that Shield points system to offer at least something that differentiates the rearguard draws from the outright losses. Not this current state of play where it's 'the reward was denying the other team 12 competition points, a team which could easily be nowhere near the pace at season's end'.

What an amazing feat by Max Chu huh? The effort's worth 5 hundreds. Not an easy task for the current generation players to block out sessions. Otago showing serious fight since the last year. Slowly becoming a reasonable 4 day unit with some fighters in the team.

The interesting thing about Otago is that they have no international regulars but a bunch of solid domestic players - they might have the best side when international regulars are excluded.

It's great to see growing numbers of Eurasian NZers making good contributions in domestic cricket. Chapman, McClure and Chu. As we move further into the 21st century the NZ population will get more and more diverse. It's important that NZ ensures all of us can be involved in cricket.

Good to see Joe Carter is really fulfilling his early promise after dropping out of the ND side a few years ago before coming back with surprise success in the Super Smash.

I'll be interested to see how Llew Johnson goes for Otago. He replaced Neesham in the Super Smash as a 17 year old and appears to have set a club record with 256, featuring 21 sixes and 15 fours.

Recently scored a century for Otago A vs Canterbury A too.

Another North Otago product. Great place to play cricket, is Oamaru.

On the way to Dunedin today for the (cancelled of course, but the flights were booked, so why not) Hella Mega concert. Saw the Auckland team in the Koru lounge ... Phillips, Guptill, Somerville, Chapman, Jamieson ... very exciting, all the big guns! Chapman really does look like just a regular dude compared to the rest. Then spotted Craig Cumming within five minutes of getting to Dunedin. ?

Thinly-veiled "I can afford a Koru Lounge membership" post.
