Feeling pretty positive about my cynical line up. Only the Hira gamble hasn't really come off IMO.

I assume I got the wooden spoon. Meh - my fault for taking too many long shots.

No official count done yet, but yeah Heef's bowlers (McCone, McClenaghan, Hutchinson, Quinn, Rance) were a bit more middling and serviceable than he's making out.

How the top 5 leaderboard looked after 4/8 rounds (the two October rounds being pre-draft)....

Yeah that was pretty poor because it wasn't discussed at all before we began picking, but I decided it's unlikely Ben Smith would've gone as low in the draft as he did, if the majority of us were picking under the assumption of the October rounds counting.

I reckon if I pick the exact same team next year I will finish mid table. Clarkson should play for a start, and Seifert is due - it is his make it or break it year.

Such a nail-biter in the end, it should probably head to a recount by fresh scrutineers. Especially seeing a Howsie victory is kind of like a Trump victory.

Can't win **** with batsmen. That's the key. Any the paucity of genuine all-rounders certainly helps when there's so few that are capable of doing well in both facets (Ellis, Kugglejuggle, Astle)

Yeah Phlegm picked up a Grobbelaarbargain in the sixth round. Howsie benefiting from being the only one who'd touch Devcich.

I tried to cover that angle with CdG and Neesham, but it didn't pay off as well as I hoped.

After all my NZ domestic viewing, I came sixth. Thanks a lot, Craig Cachopa! My captain was doing the job remotely from South Africa too, which didn't help.
