Same problem Ashwin had. We need Jadeja for his batting and we don't have a 4th seamer who can bat 7, therefore he was always made to sit out for a mediocre quick even if he would be a better performer. Happening to Kuldeep now, and he doesn't even have the batting that Ashwin did to make selecting him feasible
It's very feasible. Jadeja and thakur are not nailed in selections in these conditions at all. I'd play kuldeep on flat decks for sure.

Dropping Jadeja for NKR so that Kuldeep could play is a very bold move. Jadeja is basically first name on the list.

Also it seems the team management don't back NKR to bat 7 or to bowl 10+ overs a day. Which is a shame. I'd much rather try a young talent than keep going back to Thakur at 8.

I thought we all agreed that India should never drop Jaddu? He might be past his prime but the guy has done enough to deserve an extended run before we call it time on his career.

Fair to say aussie supporters are quietly chuckling at this inept English side- soon to arrive on Aus shores in the summer.

The eng bowling attack is roobish. SAF is a long way above them

From the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Cricinfo feed re: Sri Lanka's 7 rpo chase in the fourth innings.

Siddharth : "'Not even Bazball England can do it'Rule number one of Bazball is to never rule them out." --- Rule number two: always talk about Bazball.

Oooft. Eviscerating.

Are Wood, Atkinson, Archer, Ollie Robinson and Potts all injured?

Just wondering how low on the pecking order this group of seamers are.
Archer is injury prone, and only used for limited overs. Wood is 35 and several injuries have reduced him. Robinson is blacklisted for being military medium pace. Potts is injury prone as is Tongue(included here with no effect). Woakes looks well past it, hes 36, time to retire. Carse is their best bowler currently on form but hes still relatively new to Tests(only 5 tests- his FC Average is 31, perhaps he was overachieving in his first 5 tests and has come back to average)

Fair to say aussie supporters are really looking forward to the Ashes. This lot wouldnt do anything in aus pitches to hurt Aus. :D

Whereas Aus certainly will be including Boland this time :sp_ike:

This pitch looks like such a road that i'd probably ignore the batting Jadeja provides and trust the specialist batsmen to get runs. In most other conditions hed be an automatic selection but here it's more debatable imo.

I think there other reasons why Robinson has been blacklisted. And I suspect that those reasons may become less important over the next few weeks.

Mainly he is too slow on the speed gun.

That Stokes is their best bowler here shows what a good all rounder he is when not injury prone. If Siraj and Bumrah and co can get the ball to zag around a bit in the reply, then England are finished in this game. If they cant, this game will be a draw, as Thakur i do not rate at all anymore, and Jadeja in these conditions is a waste of time for a spinner atleast(ok as a specialist batter)

600 ish and no need to bat again. Somebody to double ton on this absolute road. Poms keep sending up roads for their bazball, inept strategy if the toss is lost.
