Dont get me wrong he's one of the best openers we've had in our 33 years as a First Class County and I agree about the pitches but his decision making borders on the woeful and its clear hes not a captain. The CC home game against Warwickshire where they chased down 339 to win after being 90-5...

He's a hopeless captain in all formats if the truth be known.

More chance of Stuart Wilkinson playing for Durham than Woody.

That members meeting back in November when the fixtures were released seems like a hundred years ago with North telling us that in the first block of Championship games we could look forward to Stokes, Wood, Boland, Potts, Raine, Conners, De Leede, Coughlin and Hogg all featuring.

We were just discussing the very same thing as the game was reaching its inevitable this afternoon. May 25 and there's only three home CC games left simply beggars belief.

Ironically during the whole of the lunch break it clouded over but as soon as the umpires came back out then the sun reappeared. However that doesn't excuse Durham from going from a position of leading by 148 runs around midday yesterday with one Somerset wicket to take to losing by seven...

I thought we'd struggle with our bowling this game but our batting has been absolutely shocking. Lees, McKinney, Gay, Ackermann and Robinson have blown hot and cold...no make that freezing all season and I haven't even mentioned Rhodes.

Yusuf ruled out of the match with a concussion injury. Hogg replacing him.

I watched a few minutes of it yesterday as I always like to hear what Fletch has to say. The first hour had just ended and he said it looked like a big scoring wicket.

Unable to get to the Riverside for second day running due to bloody awful sinusitis but these conditions should be right up Ben Raine's street.

Join the gang. Lees is an excellent opener and one of the best we've had but he is definitely no captain - that was crystal clear when he became the white ball skipper. Perhaps the role of red ball captain was what was required to get him to stay at the club? His decision making at the Warwicks...

Its ludicrous to think we've gone from the minefield at Worcester to flat as a fart Southampton in the space of a week. As you say its a dreadful advert for the four day game.

The one area this season where I thought we would have no cause for concern was the batting but on the whole it has been woeful with some dismissals simply beggaring belief.
