*Official* Road to the 2025-26 Ashes

Bailey opened his press conference on selection by saying that the Aus A selections were all about getting more guys repeat experience in those conditions so they'd be prepared for 2027 BGT and beyond, and that they don't expect performances there to bear much relevance to Ashes selection...

Sangha is part of the group currently at the MRF Academy in Chennai. I don't know if that has any bearing on his non-selection for the A games.

*Official* Road to the 2025-26 Ashes

I count 8, but it's hard to remember every random white ball bilateral appearance so I may have forgotten someone. That's also just the squad for the four-day games. The one-day squad is even more of a development squad because it clashes with the start of the Shield - Cooper Connolly, Harry...

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Gill being more sensible with his reviews here than Paine was.

Enjoying this from Siraj. Always liked him.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I don't think I've watched more than 15 minutes of this live only switching over in breaks of other sport, but in that time I've seen multiple wild deliveries, two Tongue wickets, and the Gill run out. It's been bizarre. And now that ugly dismissal to add to it.

    That was ****ing stupid.

    Cricket in 2028 Olympics

I wonder if Australia have already had this in mind for a little while now. Might explain why they keep choosing to bowl first even after they've already won a series. They probably want a bit of a buffer in the rankings before they inevitably go get smashed in India later this year.

**Official** South Africa in Australia T20s/ODIs Tour 2025

Seems a bit of a waste of time to organise all of these 50 over games for Aus A this year when they clearly don't matter for ODI selection.

What we learned from the 4th test

He played a season for UNSW in 2018/19 and did pretty well. Also couple of games in Tas when he was there for the BBL.

Jediah Blades hasn't played any T20s before this series? His effort today is something positive for WI to take away at least.

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

I remember it happening a bunch with Travis Head where he looked capable of hitting every ball in the power play to the boundary, but would lose strike too long because the other guy was struggling to get set, and then he'd get out. So wasteful. I find cricket is still a bit off where it could...

Only just remembered to check the score and how has Maxwell faced so few balls? The new meta in T20s is to get one guy on a good day to monopolise the strike and try kill the game early?

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

I'd say I'm generally inclined to be generous about the decisions of coaches and selectors, but the way that Hardie has been managed over the past few years has really pissed me off. No clue what the plan is for him now, but hopefully he goes back to playing more Shield.

*Official* Australia Tour of West Indies 2025

Why would Australia not choose to bat now the series has already been won? Especially when they keep picking Connolly and now Hardie to sit down the order & hardly bat. Nice to see Bartlett at least. And no JFM again so maybe they've finally given up on him.

I'd back Starc in Sri Lanka. Though I think they're also keen on having a SLA option there, so not sure who would miss out if they went that way. I'll have to go back and look at the last IPL but I seem to remember Cummins improving as an opening bowler after Shami was ruled out? And he's decent...
