Aubrey Faulkner vs Shaun Pollock (Tests)

If you put Ahktar, Lee, Tait, Bond in grainy footage from the 70s or 80s against batsmen with no helmets they would look ridiculously fast. Jeff Thompson is the only one that looks proper quick by today's standards. Most of the rest that were considered quick would be comparable to a Matt Henry...

I feel like I'd much prefer Bond but I can't say I have much knowledge about how good they are as coaches.

    *Official* Bangladesh A v New Zealand A

He did but he's also averaged 20 in the last 2 years (14 tests) and you don't want to waste an easy introduction to test cricket like Zimbabwe. It's a nice place to slot someone like Hay into the team.

50 now. but yeah he should be straight into the XI for the next test series.

Don't like the benching of Rhys Mariu or Abbas. Get the most promising players as much game time as possible in these conditions. Some of these other guys won't be up to much for the blackcaps in the future.

25*(11) 3/33 27*(13) 5/53 Pretty good returns for his last game lol.

any idea where Wagner ended up on the all-time list for wickets? can't be that far off

Definitely think Kelly and Nicholls looked completely out of their depth, although the conditions and bowling were a lot harder up front. Pakistan completely fumbled that 5th 10 over block.

Abbas looked class. Man we have some really good young players coming though, it's good to see. Excited to see Mairu this series as well.

Bit of a shame. Two SA/NZ test matches hosted in SA in 12 years is pretty grim.

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

53 (40) + 2/28 off 10 against India in a final is something no one would've picked from him a few years ago. I wonder who's played their last ODI now? Latham, Conway potentially.

Randomly came across Mike Hesson doing a preview of this game:

Is there anyone with a comparable record to Bruce's that's never played a test? 6k runs @ nearly 48. Munro played one test. Greg Hay did average 42-43 but it's a bit unlucky lol.

Keep in mind Shane Bond also took 44 @ 15 against Australia, the strongest ODI sides ever assembled.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Probably. Young's record isn't as good as it looks on the surface, lots of Netherlands/Bangladesh bashing.
