    *Official* Pakistan in New Zealand

Definitely think Kelly and Nicholls looked completely out of their depth, although the conditions and bowling were a lot harder up front. Pakistan completely fumbled that 5th 10 over block.

Abbas looked class. Man we have some really good young players coming though, it's good to see. Excited to see Mairu this series as well.

Bit of a shame. Two SA/NZ test matches hosted in SA in 12 years is pretty grim.

    Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

53 (40) + 2/28 off 10 against India in a final is something no one would've picked from him a few years ago. I wonder who's played their last ODI now? Latham, Conway potentially.

Randomly came across Mike Hesson doing a preview of this game:

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Is there anyone with a comparable record to Bruce's that's never played a test? 6k runs @ nearly 48. Munro played one test. Greg Hay did average 42-43 but it's a bit unlucky lol.

    ODI Bowlers Poll - discussions

Keep in mind Shane Bond also took 44 @ 15 against Australia, the strongest ODI sides ever assembled.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

Probably. Young's record isn't as good as it looks on the surface, lots of Netherlands/Bangladesh bashing.

    1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

I know there are valid reasons for scoring less hundreds but yeah **** we didn't see many growing up apart from like Nathan Aste lol. Cairns - 4 (192 innings) Styris - 4 (161 innings) Crowe - 4 (140 innings) Vincent - 3 (99 innings) McMillan - 3 (183 innings) Twose - 1 (81 innings) Harris - 1...

Mitchell's probably not far away. Conway probably has the best average of an opener but not enough runs. Ravindra, Phillips potential picks in the future. Southee is kind of a joke pick with Hadlee available, even Henry/Mills would be far ahead.

filtering out the weaker sides like bangladesh, zimbabwe, (west indies for taylor). fleming and taylor basically have opposite records. fleming averages 45 away and 33 at home, Taylor averages 44 at home and around 33 away/neutral.

Even though he's **** now, i do think conway is a bit underrated in these discussions. In games played together when both opening: Tom Latham: 1093 with an average of 29.54. (think there was one 32* at number 3) Devon Conway: 1358 with an average of 36.70 Conway also has some great away...

It's kind of hard to pick a different team than this. Conway probably has a case for the second opener spot over McCullum despite looking bad the last year and a half. Did well in England, India, Pakistan. lowest average against a team is 27.

    Kapil Dev vs Trent Boult

Wagner arguably has the best record of the trio against the top teams during his career. I mean he went over to australia, averaged 22 with the ball, and dominated Steve Smith.

Duffy has looked a lot better than Smith as a bowler recently, terrible selection.

*Official* Sri Lanka in New Zealand, 2024–25 (ODIs / T20Is)

Problem with Williamson is that he's good enough to occupy the crease for a long time even when he's in bad form. so when your SR is 110-115 it's not great for the team. If Finn Allen is in bad form at least it ends quickly and he often scores quickly for the little time he's there.
