Imran Khan vs Kapil Dev (ODIs)

Imran. He should be in top 15 ODI cricketers. Possibly the best ODI all-rounder of all time.

Why is it viewed as more important

There is probably a reason why there are more bowling all-rounders than batting all-rounders. The reason might be same 'everyone has to bat'. Many like Hammond, Worrell, Waugh didn't end up bowling enough to be considered proper all-rounders. For a batting all-rounder to be recognized as an...

Why is it viewed as more important

I think they are pretty neck to neck. An argument can be made in favour of either. What do others think?

Why is it viewed as more important

I think in a real team they are both equally important. 'Everyone has to bat' is a good argument in favour of bowling all-rounders. But in favour of batting all-rounders is the fact that they allow teams to play a 5 man attack without compromising on batting strength i.e. You can play 6 full...

    Best 'bad fielders' XI

Look at Tendulkar's bat at the time of release. That's why Indian batsmen rarely get Mankaded.

    Marshall vs Imran (as bowlers)

Missed opportunity to OK that wall of text.

    Bowling - Batting Counterparts

Apart from starting spectacularly, they both had strike rates that hadn't been seen before (although SR mean very different things for batting and bowling)

Is James Anderson an ATG test bowler?

    OK, that's valid objection.

    ***Official*** IPL 2024

Shocking! Professional cricketers don't like IPL's "innovations" that will revolutionize cricket.

Is James Anderson an ATG test bowler?

Ignore longevity. Treat him as a bowler who took 500+ wickets @ under 24 in a 13 year period. That's Shaun Pollock level of output. Anderson's additional years only add to his overall contribution. If Pollock is an ATG (or Walsh for that matter), so is Anderson.

Is James Anderson an ATG test bowler?

Forget number of tests and wickets. How many pace bowlers have had a 20+ year career?

    Bowling - Batting Counterparts

Ponting didn't start his career with a bang Botham is not a great batsman. He is likely a great bowler, definitely a great all-rounder.

    Gordon Greenidge vs Clive Lloyd

Did you guys not see these rankings when they came 20+ years ago? It used to be on Wisden website.

    Hammond vs Kallis

If you are referring to Cricinfo stats, this is just average score at which each bowler dismissed him which is completely useless. Edit: for FC cricket, I don't know if they have even that

    Michael Slater in BIG Strife

I thought he knew where the line is.

    Gordon Greenidge vs Clive Lloyd

Will vote for Lloyd too. Wisden ranked him higher of the two. http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/threads/wisden-ranks-all-time-best.2479/#post-39141
