And ignore the huge drop off in bowling?

*Official* Fourth Test at Trent Bridge

All 4 being different bowlers as well which is a pretty good sign.

    Michael Clarke

What you mean when it took him ages to score a lone ton in ages but nobody betted an eyelid and raved about him but at the same time criticised Ian Bell for the same thing?

    Furious with Decision

Right move for me. It is only day 1 and there was no benefit in sending Stokes (a notoriously bad starter) out for a 15 minute spell then face him have to start all over again today.

Split test cricket into roughly two halves. ATG XI 1877-1959 vs ATG XI 1960-2015

It is hypothetical because he's far off the level with the bat of others so wouldn't get selected. As for his bowling, if 5 substantially better bowlers can't get wickets, why would he?

Split test cricket into roughly two halves. ATG XI 1877-1959 vs ATG XI 1960-2015

Presumably because he's nowhere near as good a batsman and his bowling would deemed be a complete waste of time in a line-up with 5 better bowlers.

Modern New Zealand XI (dayboo post 1980) first poll: The Two Positions from Hell

Wouldn't be anywhere near the 1st XI and would struggle to make the 2nd XI IMO. All of Williamson, Smith, Root, Amla, de Villiers, Sangakkara are ahead of him for starters.

Dropped at the right time actually.

Modern New Zealand XI (dayboo post 1980) first poll: The Two Positions from Hell

Sorry, but on what planet does McCullum come close to making a World XI in the past 12 months?

    Garry Sobers v Imran Khan,Test Cricket:Poll

A batsman who doesn't bowl isn't an all rounder, that's hardly rocket science. You will disregard those because they don't agree with what you think is the right answer, ignoring that they clearly show the better all rounder is Sobers.

    Garry Sobers v Imran Khan,Test Cricket:Poll

If you want to value wickets and runs etc, why not look like at the icc rankings which place values on such things over a career. We all agree that Sobers' batting was his strong point and Imran's bowling was his. Looking at peak ratings, Sobers had 938 with the bat, whereas Imran had 922 with...

    Garry Sobers v Imran Khan,Test Cricket:Poll

So if Imran was such a good batsman how come he got so few runs from his 88 tests?
