CW in the Sunday Star Times

lol at Burgey, Noble One and JimmyGS getting a guernsey in The Times! That's awesome. Although Jimmy would be unimpressed being described as an Aussie? Wish I'd said something wittier than " "

    QLD may cut loose symmonds.

Not over this. But I doubt Symonds ability to avoid generating some controversy in the IPL that will have the ever-scandal-ready Indian media out for his blood. The other thing about the 'only play in the IPL' plan is that it is a pretty fraught proposition, especially for bowlers or athletic...

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

tbf, many of us have consistently said that we don't like T20 for several years now. Used to have the T20 Is Boring Society in my sig, but took it out after deciding it was getting too long, and that it was unnecessarily argumentative. In all seriousness though, Australia probably needs T20...

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

Well, then I'd like this 'new thinking' to include a decision to cease the pretence that T20 has anything to do with proper cricket and it be treated by selectors as wholly unrelated, and not to interfere with the test team. A team made of people who perform in domestic T20 and who we don't...

    Twin teams for internationals?

Nah, even then the quality is diluted. Players who made the 'A' team competitive, like Ponting, Bevan, Gilchrist, Martyn and probably even Hayden, were not in the main team due to incumbency issues rather than merit. If one team only had been selected, purely on merit at that point, it would...

    QLD may cut loose symmonds.

Not saying they should do so - it would indeed be contrary to their form (although wasn't Bhajji booted for the rest of the season for his action and Mohd Asif barred for drugs, just saying that he's being very cavalier, seemingly, in pissing away his national and possibly his first class career...

    QLD may cut loose symmonds.

Hence 'most'. And to be fair, you'd have to consider whether they would have wanted him either at his peak, or from the start of his career, not as he is now at the washed up end of his career. By those criteria, considering the teams they've had since, say 2002: England WIs NZ SL and prob...

    QLD may cut loose symmonds.

Will be funny when his IPL team does the same thing.

Great, more T20, and players who are no good in tests around the national set up...

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

Can we just opt out of any T20 tournaments from now on? The team obviously doesn't care, and I'd prefer they rest and practice for proper cricket anyway...

    Performance Issues

Always use QR - forever forgetting to tick, or untick as appropriate, the "Quote Message in Reply" option, much to my chagrin. Only use Quote or Multiquote when what I'm going to say REALLY won't make any sense without an editted quote, or several quotes stuck together.

    Jumping the Shark II

    And for round 13 Kev?

    Symonds: Gawn?

Poor Lee - was forced to bowl pus by his pining for Roy!

    Jumping the Shark II

Thought about banning Roberts every round for the past four rounds - but was getting nervous about getting my own team together.

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

Yeah, to complete the disgrace, they need to swap Gayle and Bravo out and get Broad in...

Group C - Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies

tbf, they caught just about all the realistic chances - the ones that Shiv and Marshall missed were tough chances - they certainly should have stopped the boundaries, but it wasn't THAT disgraceful not to catch them (not great either, but not as embarrassing as the other stuff that was going on)

Yeah, the one over cover, where he adjusted and waited for the slower ball before slotting it.

    Isn't that 6, not 4?

Ridiculous shot for a tail ender there by Johnson.

Seems to happen fairly randomly I'm afraid.
