*Official* Australia in England T20s and ODIs

Got to say these were two of the worst ODIs I can remember seeing - if these are to be examples of the breed, then maybe extinction is a good thing. I'm not becoming a fan of T20 by any means, but finding it harder to argue the merits of ODIs as a format over them. A good ODI is better than a...

Bugger. Were well and truly outclassed by the Saints yesterday. We didn't play that badly, but didn't look like getting close in the second half. Reckon we can just give the Saints that cup now - with a weeks rest, only a big choke in the GF can stop them now. Pendlebury's basically gone...

Mate, he was pretty good. Mate, you should give the bloke a chance. Mate, I'm totally convinced he is an average Joe like you and I.

Official Pro-Wrestling Thread (WWE, TNA, ROH etc.)

And this: YouTube - The Rock Funny Moment: The People's Strudel (RAW - September 10, 2001) Weird thing was - I remember laughing my ass off at this one, had until just now when I saw the date of this show forgot that it was what I was watching when the September 11 attacks happened (remembered...

Cricketers that don't like each other

I'd guess that might be fairly typical of many of the guys who clashed with Warne on the field, if they later had a chance to spend time with him in a non-confrontational setting. I think Ian Bell and he would have got along if they'd played together for county or IPL or whatever...

Cricketers that don't like each other

tbh, I'd be surprised if there are actually many opponents Warne actually dislikes off the field. When not playing cricket, he seems to be the type who thrives on being liked, and who is prepared to give people a chance - he'll mess up relationships by being selfish, but not through malice...

Even if that's true, what does that have to do with anything? I can't make a comment on Delidio because Thomas is on the Collingwood list?

Mediations Break Down In West Indies

Pretty appalling. If the ICC eventually dropped Zimbabwe for mismanagement, and the US setup for the same issues, surely there will come a point where they can do the same to the WICB.

Ha - knew as I typed that that someone would mention Thomas. What can I say - yeah, I agree he's over-hyped, although I'd say he's realistically rated these days. Is he a bad player - hell, no. A superstar, not really either. He's a decent player who can occassionally do spectacular things...

Cricketers that don't like each other

Keith Miller and the Don is a famous one I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned yet. Ray Lindwall and Trevor Bailey. Bailey, along with the pitches and lbw rule of the time, frustrated Lindwall so much that he admitted not only to bowling heaps of bouncers at him, but also to deliberately bowling...

Cricketers that don't like each other

Speaking of Warne, he and Waugh and he and Gilly had difficult relations at times, but always managed to work well together. Warne thought he should have been captain rather than Waugh, and then lost the VC to Gilly. Plus Gilly was a somewhat sensitive soul who didn't seem to know how to take...

    Prepared To Sacrifice?

IF its a five or seven match series, or 15 match trilateral. If it's a three match series, the anticipation through the week would be huge. Made an two-team LO series three weeks long. Play either a double header each weekend (Friday Day-Night and Sunday) - T20 the first weekend, a T20 the...

    Prepared To Sacrifice?

In cutting the number of ODIs, you'd presumably increase the interest factor in terms of people wanting to watch every match, and hence not take as big a financial hit as would initially appear to be the case. You could also strip out the less popular times first, so retain the weekend matches...

    Prepared To Sacrifice?

A game of baseball doesn't take ALL day, or 5 days. And the teams can travel from one match to another in a day. The fact you have to fly halfway around the world and need to aclimitize puts different constraints on cricket. EDIT: And Americans are also people largely ignorant of what the...
