*Official* Fifth Test at The Oval

Well, I would have sent Ramps an invitation far earlier; at least a year ago. That way, his mental abilities would have been proven. But let's get real here: The form Bopara and Bell are showing simply means that even dropping them for my disabled grandmother wouldn't hurt England too much...

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

No early start? There was some discussion a few pages back, that play never starts early in England. However, I am reasonably sure that in 2005, all matches, regardless of lost time due to rain, started at 10:30.

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

By passing 18 runs, Bopara has now made up for dropping Hilfenhaus. Effectively, he is on 3 runs now :) .

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

I just realise that we have only had a half day's play! The 10 wickets really made me feel we were closing in on stumps.

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

I wasn't trying to argue that Johnson is as good as Flintoff or Siddle! Surely not! I was just pointing out that Johnson's poor bowling form seems to cloud the fact (or rather my strong opinion) that the Aussie batting is way below par!

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

I've made this arguement before and will do so again: Contrary to tons of articles, opinions and comments, Australia's problem area is the batting area, not the bowling area. There seems to be a broad believe that Australia's problem is Johnson's defect radar. I won't argue he was bowling fine...

What was (or looked) wrong with that Clarke-LBW?? England do not seem to be very lucky with LBW-decisions, right? I watched yesterday's session without commentary, so I'm not too sure, but I thought there a few very close ones too!

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

Indeed a quite underlooked aspect. I would never claim that the Aussue bowling attack was spot on, but I felt too that it was the Aussie first innngs that decided the test. England's 425 was not too far above par, I reckon. It seemed to be, because of the massive first wicket stand. But all...

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Australia are NOT going to: a: hit 159 for the last 2 wickets b: survive for 79 overs It's all over! Well done Flintoff & England!

    Sidebottom Info.

I guess it is about fitness.... I find it harder to comprehend why Hoggard is never considered. What has he done wrong?

That's what I thought! I hadn't noticed Fred was injured.......

According to the Guardian, Monty is likely to be dropped for Harmison.

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Same here, I never thought I would think so, but saturday I was missing Harmy..... I guess I would fit him in for Panesar. Broad may have another chance, I suppose. Just to forget about Harmison: The obvious change would be Onions for Panesar. If Broad underperforms again at Lord's, he will...

*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

That's what I thought too! However, there is one very big difference: That lot celebrating a draw at Old Trafford in 2005 was the unbeatable Australian Cricket Machine, including McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Langer & Hayden. Anyway, I think this is just a great way to start the Ashes. Of...

It's Yin & Yang, not Ying & Yang :) . Sorry for that  , back to cricket it is.

If the ball only just pitched inline..., was it such a bad decision to give it Not Out? Oh dear, Hauritz get some treatment here.... 16 of the over!

*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

So, anything under 350, means Aus are on top, anything above 400 means Eng are on top. I guess this is a top start for proper Test Cricket. Game on!

*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

Good to see Pietersen (and Colly for that matter) simply do what his team needs! No show pony stuff so far. Let's see if these two can hold out until tea!

*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

Well, the first 50 partnership of the series. I thought England were a bit in trouble at lunch, but KP and Colly have brought things on track for England: 141/3 seems to be honours even after a half day's play.

I agree. So far, we cannot even be sure this pitch will be a spinner's paradise. And even if it will turn out to be so, picking Monty is a gamble. I guess Swann will take a few, whereas Monty will leak runs. Easy stuff for the 2nd test then...
