*Official* First Test at Swalec Stadium, Cardiff

Confirmed! Now then, if Aus pick Hauritz and Eng pick two spinners, the waiting is for a pitch doesn't take spin at all......... Oh, England will bat!

    Favourite Ashes Memory

Must be 2005! Since the BBC stopped sending cricket into my Dutch living room, I stopped watching cricket. The 2005 series got me back. As a neutral, I had no choice but to support England. The best moment were Flintoff's over at Edgbaston and the last day at Old Trafford. I'm still convinced...

    England 17-man squad

So, we are discussing the 2005 selection. Why??? Let's see if we can get this back on track to the 2009 selection. I guess this is simply it. Only one place to discuss. The way things look now, the line up currently used for the Eng XI vs Warwickshire will be the one for the 1st Test. My...

Group E - England, India, South Africa, West Indies

Well, that's always gonna be subject to debate. It's hard to be too critical on Bravo, but he did leak a few runs. From that point of view, Kallis performace against England was possibly better?

    Pakistan vs netherlands, weather predictions

It has stopped raining now, but more rain is expected.

Group B - Pakistan, England, Netherlands

The big diffence is that Netherlands are the one and only (half-)decent cricket team, outside the former British empire. I think it is significant for the future of cricket that it expands outside the commonwealth. T20 is the only, yet likely, opportunity for cricket to make it to the Olympics...

One cannot think something is not important, while having accepted the captaincy.

Did anyone notice we beat England at Lord's?

Group B - Pakistan, England, Netherlands

Sure? It's not the difference in runs, but the difference in runs per ball. I think, therefor, the allowed difference is 32 runs. I did the math in excel and come to 32...... Edit: Never mind 24,5 it is. 25 won't do for NL, 24 will!

Anyone going to the Oval in an hour or so? I don't have tickets, but I'm only a 30 minutes walk away the Oval these days. I might just pick up a ticket on the black market, while sending my wife shopping :) .

Group B - Pakistan, England, Netherlands

Friday night was one of the best nights in my life! I was on the Mound Stand, like many Dutch were. I still can't believe we recovered, after England had run to 100/0 halfway their innings. What I seriously don't understand is the fielding plan. I play in the Dutch competition, at the lowest...

Group B - Pakistan, England, Netherlands

REally, fir the Dutch to win a match, we need two miracles. Firtst to score more than 140 runs, than to keep an opponent under 140. Both seem pretty unlikely...

Anyone here going to any of these matches? I'll watch both games of NL at Lord's. I'll wear orange :) .

    Dirk Nannes

Well, you'ld be surprised which language most Dutch cricketers speak when playing cricket. None of the cricket terms have been translated into Dutch. To find out how these typical phrases can be translated into Dutch, one has to turn to Afrikaans.

    ***Official***World Cup 2011 Qualifiers

Scotland will play against Afghanistan and UAE. I think the Scots won't make it though. They have to get passed either Kenya or Holland. The Scottish NRR is indeed poor and it seems they only have a decent chance to surpass the Dutch. But that would require rather firm losses by the Dutch...

I garee ottaly :) ! At some point, Ponting had 5 dot balls and then a single run the keep the strike.... I guess it it is not too bad in itself to score just a single run in an over once or twice. But this really made me feel he gave the momentum away.

Good recovery by Botha. He really got smashed in his first over.
