Poor Pakistanis. They can't beat Australianism with Pakistanism.

I just woke up (6:30 in the morning here). I cannot believe this.............. 180 runs for the 9th wicket? And why is ABC radio for Aussie IPs only????

So, has the pitch flattened out a fair bit? Or was it good batting or poor bowling? If both teams get out for 270-290 and the 3rd innings holds 312/2, a draw might not be such a funny idea. South Africa's game to lose, but they do need some proper bowling on day 4 & 5.

A wicket would balance this match. Right now, the Saffies appear to be in the driver's seat!

Despite Pakistan being Pakistan (today their trick was Kamran Akmal dropping Hussey a gazillion times of Kaneria), they still effectively have Aus 80/8. This should really be a formality!

We couldn't ask for much more. Trailing by 50 runs with 3 wickets in hand in the first innings of a Test, no matter who plays whom, is just good cricket!

Couldn't agree more. But Cook just fell first over after lunch. Advantage SA that is!

The end of the road for SA and my last thread on proteas.

I can see what you mean if you say that politics are involved in cricket (or any other sport) in many countries and that it seems to be more persistent in one country than the other. However, what completely baffles me...... SA selecting players for other easons than merit has been official and...

And then, going to the kitchen to make some tea, guess what, a double strike by Steyn.........

Crap, I'm 20 minutes late and I've missed 4, no make that 5, wickets.........

Been reading some comments... Though Pakistan could indeed have done better from some point, the sentiment that Pakistan is in a spot of bother for only having a 200 runs first inings lead, seems quite absurd.

The first test England got away with a draw, while the Saffies were in the driver's seat. The second test, SA got pwned by the English. The only difference was Friedel de Wet. If De Wet plays in Kaapstad and/or if Steyn comes good again and/if Kallis' bowling comes good again (not unlikely as...

Even more surprising when realising that his middle name is Willem, the most Dutch of Dutch names.

What makes you think there are other Dutchmen following England - SA ;) ? Well, there are a few, tbh. I guess I have a slight bias for SA, simply for having a few Dutch names in their side. However, what I want to see, is a proper test match. During the fifth day on the first match, I was...

    Is Cricket Your Favourite Sport?

Traditionally, I've always watched loads of football, cycling and speed skating (hey, I'm Dutch). I got into cricket without anyone telling me about in the first place. I just happened to be in a pub in London in july 1995, when a match was on. I asked another pub visitor about it and he was...
