Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan

One feels that the the Aussies would treat shorter, slower balls in a different way...

Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan

The partnerships might last for a while, but it's still nothing but a run-a-ball. After 16 overs, the RR is 5.75....

Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan

Sanga sent back.... England keeping the RR under a run-a-ball AND taking all big wickets. Boring game :) .

    Is Brett Lee Chinese?

Not sure why I reply in a serious way, but I'll quote wikipedia: Lee was the 35th most common surname in England and Wales in the 1990s.

Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan

I still think that when any top 8 T20 team playing another, the odds are never outside 60-40. Therefor, any team has a reasonable chance to advance to the final and winning it. Aus seem to have the in-form team, but so does England. And though I don't think Pakistan have shown great form, they...

    A guy like Kallis

He would simply be my first pick in any T20 team. Maybe not the highest SR, but his SR is still above a run-a-ball and he averages 40 or so. This makes him a great guarantee for a good start of the Innings. Maybe other players are just a bit better than Kallis, but non of them come even close...

Group E (Super 8) - Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, England

If any team is capable of transforming overnight from complete crap to great levels, or the other way round, it must be Pakistan.

    Ambrose Vs Mcgrath?

Isn't that (part of) of that art of seam bowling? If you can produce balls that completely randomly cut 2 inches either way, you have a great weapon! Even at my own crap level, I have bowled (or tried to bowl :) ) off-cutters that appeared to cut away a fraction from the batsman.

Pakistan most fluke team (and discussion about tournament structure fairness)

Obviously, only the points won against the other team that goes through, are carried over... Fair enough, not? Anyway, officially, Aus were #9 or #10 before this tourney. It was pure luck that each of the 4 groups got one of Ire/Afg/Zim/Ban. Last WC, Ban and Ire were in one group, whereas...

Well, Australia not qualifying from here is only a mathematical possibility.

Pakistan most fluke team (and discussion about tournament structure fairness)

New format: Three groups of 4 teams. Nos 1 & 2 go through to super6, carrying points. Leader and runner-up of super6 play best of 5 over three days. That would shut up all the craphola we have now, and still be a sizeable format.

Which team is going to win the 20-20 world cup ?

TBH, when any of the top 8 teams play eachother in T20, the odds are never outside 60-40. So any team can win this...

Will K.P ever be an all-time great?

Pffff, Warne in 2005 was Warne at his peak.......... Anyway, Pietersen is not at par with the real greats. He might get there in Aus though.

    Immortal Knocks <100

Giles was given LBW in the 1st innings wrongly, on 32. He also had broken the Hayden/Langer 1st innings partnership, but was denied an LBW. Then he went on to score his best test innings ever, on the moment it mattered most. Great stuff. I think, in general, Giles' Ashes 2005 contribution is...

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2010

That would have been obvious indeed!

So what does the future hold for West Indies?

Yeah, you're probably right: No use in adding an extra bowler who is not really up to it. We've seen the same with Powell.

*Official* English Domestic Season Thread 2010

It's what I like about Broad: Just a decent bowler, with ocasionally an exceptional spell.

So what does the future hold for West Indies?

A bowler short? On a turning pitch, Gayle might be useful, but otherwise?
